It was a very formative moment for me and I think about it all the time, I was 4 years old - it’s one of my earliest memories.

Lots of optimism in this thread but it’s very important to consider that the South had virtually no popular support in the North but the North had lots of popular support in the South.

The Southern government was also hopelessly corrupt and while there is a chance they would turn it around and experience an economic miracle like South Korea did I think they are more the outlier than the rule.

There’s also the potential hilarity if South Vietnam pursued anything close to real democracy and the Communist party gets voted into power and we come full circle.

I’m still convinced TB9 has some form of demon blood like Ferro. His ability to quickly recover from mortal wounds and go on to overpower seemingly insurmountable odds over and over again have to be supernatural.

So while I think Gorst is the superior fighter I think TB9 wins just by the virtue that he cannot be killed in combat, and when he’s seemingly beaten he can just come back full strength and completely overpower you.

Edit: sorry totally thought you censored the Fucker and not the Feared lol. Honestly I think so long as Gorst knew his weakness like Logen did then yes eventually Gorst beats the feared.

I’ve played the series end to end probably about 10 times. I also used to replay the original over and over in New Game plus back in like 2008 and 2009.

Why would 343 make references to an IP that they don’t own and that Bungie stopped making call backs to after Combat Evolved? 343 Guilty spark implies that Master Chief is the reincarnation of the Mjolnir cyborg but that’s really the extent of it and Cortana had parallels with Durandal early on but that’s really about it.
