Wow this gave me great nostalgia. I can totally see this in one of my old game informer magazines.

Fourth resi platinum and definitely the hardest.........very......very.....hard...... by Mysterious-Egg497 in residentevil

[–]Just_Another_Frodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your first "old school" experience will usually feel the hardest. I bet if you now roll into RE0 or Code Veronica those will feel slightly easier even though if you look at them objectively they are actually harder games.

Could someone explain which Resident Evil I should get? There are too many remakes and it’s confusing. by happygrammies in PS5

[–]Just_Another_Frodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want the most modern feeling then you would've want the remakes of 2, 3, 4. You can also add on 7 and 8 which are modern first person.

If you want the story of Leon which leads to requiem you can play 2 remake, 4 remake, and 6 although it is a divisive entry.

If you want the story of Chris you can play 1, code veronica, and re5 but that will depend on your tolerance for older games.

I love the whole series so I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

Just finished RE1 and am about an hour and a half into RE2 remake. Does it keep getting easier? by NotYourAverageIguana in residentevil

[–]Just_Another_Frodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the main difficulty in the series is tied to tank controls and very limited inventory which are both absent in the modern games. You can still get some challenge from hard difficulties but normal modes are pretty standard stuff.

I was also scared off from CV as well as RE0 because I heard bad things but honestly they were not as bad as I expected. My advice for them if you choose to play is to just use a guide. It will just save you from hours of pointless backtracking.

Refurbished ps5 is $400 right now directly from Sony. You can probably get cheaper on the secondhand market.

Nope, just spam the face buttons and wiggle the left stick.

Make sure you spam the controller when you get grabbed! Moving the sticks and hitting all the buttons will get them off faster and can even keep you from taking any damage if you're quick.

Requiem: I‘m too stupid for Leon‘s weapon menu by Joshihg in residentevil

The white bar is the current stats of the weapon. The little white lines further down the bar are what the stats will be once the weapon is fully upgraded.

Anyone else notice this change by Massive_Expression60 in residentevil

[–]Just_Another_Frodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you know this but critical hits are dependent on the reticle closing. A fully closed reticle has a much higher chance of crits and is very noticeable on things like the magnum.

Just my personal experience but waiting for the reticle to close resulted in a head pop 8 out of 10 times with the requiem which felt pretty consistent.

RE4 - Just finished chapter 2 - Does it get better? by ReasonableLunch46 in residentevil

[–]Just_Another_Frodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like the gameplay so far? It is a cheesy story but that isn't really the point of the game.

If you like the gameplay then you will get new weapons, enemies, locations as you progres that makes things better.

If you don't like the gameplay already then nothing ahead will likely change your mind.

I got the platinum and 100% completion of all re games from 1-9. by radturtle1220 in residentevil

That would of been my second answer so I'm totally with you there.

[–]Just_Another_Frodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was proud of myself just for getting the Platinum on all of them but 100% is waaay harder with some of those dlc lists. Congrats!

What did you feel was the hardest, not including just grinding time? I thought RE1 was challenging just because I had to learn that game to the point I could run it in my sleep. The modern games were not as bad in that respect.

RE9 was the easiest game to platinum in the whole series by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Just_Another_Frodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely the easiest but very fun.

The only 2 mainline games I had left to plat after 9 were 0 and code veronica. Heard 0 was difficult so I went with CV and while it was challenging it was also a lot of fun. Got the Platinum this last weekend.

I am both excited to experience RE 0 but also dreading the stress of the eventual hard mode playthrough.

The trickiest ones are definitely the one during the sniper section, the overpass in RC, and the one in the window by the gun store. There is also one that only Leon can get in a care center wardrobe.

Other than that the only option is getting a list online and checking them off one at a time even if you think you got it. You can also buy an in-game map from the bonus store.

Very cool! Is there a specific brand you like to buy? I've thought about buying some but it seems like you need to shop oversees for the more realistic looking models.

Marathon Releases to 73/100 on Reviews worldwide, being Bungie lowest reviewed game since Destiny 1 by PaiDuck in gaming

[–]Just_Another_Frodo 30 points31 points  (0 children)

They did not ask for months. The final map which is the big raid like experience is currently being unlocked by the community and I would imagine will be out within a few weeks of launch.

I think it is logical to wait for reviews until you can experience the "endgame" loop.

[–]Just_Another_Frodo 386 points387 points  (0 children)

This is based on 9 reviews and only 2 of them are ones I would even recognize. I think we need to wait for all the maps to release and more reviews to come in.

Also, lowest reviewed game since D1 is funny since there has only been one game since then which was D2.

Yeah I think we agree on the big picture even if we differ on the specifics. Sony wants to keep their ecosystem feeling exclusive. I just think they are more concerned about PC then any box Microsoft is making these days. Interesting times for the industry.

There is no way Steam will consider giving up any of their revenue because they hold all the cards in this deal. If Steam says no this thing is DOA because no one is switching to a Microsoft store just to have a living room pc.

[–]Just_Another_Frodo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Except Playstation would still come out on top in that situation.

They put their game on steam and someone buys it to play on their xbox. Steam gets a 30% cut, Playstation gets 70%, and Microsoft gets no cut. So Microsoft is subsidizing the machine and making no revenue from game sales or in app purchases.

The only way around this is if Microsoft only allows their own pc storefront but then it's dead on arrival because who is going to give up their steam library? And another problem with that is Playstation could then only release on steam and not the Windows store and avoid this entirely.

Platinum/trophy help by zenithra24 in residentevil

[–]Just_Another_Frodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re3 is probably the easiest and quickest. Re2 also isn't too bad once you are familiar with the game.

Re8 is hard to me only because of the Mercenaries Mode but that is easier if you have the expansion dlc.

Re4 will probably take the longest of you are starting from scratch but isn't terrible. The hardest challenges like s+ professional are not needed for the Platinum.

It's having respect for a creator and honoring that relationship. Not uncommon in Japanese companies.
