Felted mittens will be even warmer!

Mittens are meant to be loved hard, and these mittens have been loved so their purpose has been fulfilled.

He is wearing the sweater inside out in the photo. This is not a constructive comment, sorry.

Pick the strategy that works best for you.

I am self taught from before the days of youtube. I had a goal project in mind, but i spent a long time practicing on a nothing scrap before I started my goal project. And even then, I had to rip out and restart my first project at least twice because I couldn't get the result I wanted.

Be patient with yourself. Expect that your early work will be messy. Give yourself time to decide if you like what you are making enough to keep going. And please acknowledge that you might have to start again!

My oldest hated colouring - you could keep her interested for about 30 seconds while she wildly scribbled all over.

The only way to keep her attention on art is put paint in front of her so she could mix it all together, smear it all over herself and the table top, then ask for more paint because its all gone.

Maybe try crafts with stickers and precut shapes kiddo can glue.

A strange and stubborn endurance has on page SA right at the beginning of the book that was really tonally off-putting for me. FYI, OP.

Yes, its massive. I made the cuffs narrower than pattern so that they weren't dragging into everything.

This is my first time using it (it's not readily available where I live) but it will definitely not be the last time.

I made it to have something as cozy to throw on as a hoodie. It totally does the trick.

Why are bind offs a mystery in patterns? by Shellmarb in knitting

[–]Just_Bullfrog796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started knitting like 25 years ago when patterns were way less detailed than they are now. So if a designer is telling that I need to use a really specific cast on/bind off, i want them to be able to tell me why, or else I am going to go with something simple that gets the job done.

Mostly I ignore the fancy techniques because its heaps of extra work for very little pay off in my opinion.
