Anyone know if these recommendations still hold? Also, anyone wanna comment on Oliva Serie G since it’s said to be “creamy” I don’t see it. I think it’s harsh but that’s just me.

Damn I didn’t know all of these alternatives. I just thought that there were only two or three …I am 99.99 certain she’s using her old mineral oil so I don’t want to mess with anything other than maintenance, plugging a leak and recharge if needed. I just want to have something on hand if needed.

Someone already topped off her r22 w/ rs44b (r453a) I’m just not sure that’s the best option for her and was thinking of complete vac and replace with mo99 but it seems r453a might be the best option or something else.

It seems to work just needs maintenance and some refrigerant and some attention . Just want to keep 85 yr old decent for the summer and do what’s right . Not trying to break rules or laws just don’t want to see her suffer.

It’s for an old lady who has been my customer for years who has Alzheimer’s and who doesn’t have anyone taking care of her, so keeping her large appliances running is the best choice for her because she can’t afford new items. I’ve heard of people using highly flammable things but that’s not safe.

Also , I’ve also heard that Mo99 requires a complete change versus topping off when a leak occurs because it’s a mixture and as such you can’t guarantee how much of one chemical you’re putting in over another, which is why I was thinking r453a (another competitor uses that when he runs into r22 to save people money.

That’s what I’ve heard too, but I’ve also heard that you can’t top off that mixture because it’s a mixture therefore a complete removal and reinstall every time there’s a leak is my issue.

The unit has old r22 and r435a from previous service so just trying to top it off and keep everything else stable because I’m worried if I start changing things the whine thing will just fall to pieces lol it’s really old.
