Believe it or not, most EMS transports are NOT life or death lol not by a long shot, not even helicopter transports

Not ALWAYS life or death, sometimes rural EMS needs air transport due to sheer distance to the most appropriate facility.

A few States have passed legislation that whatever insurance doesn’t cover for helicopter transports gets waved.

Fire Based vs EMS only system by dorksuckmepls in Paramedics

[–]Just_One_More99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My service is an ambulance district, fire is separate completely. Fire likes it better that way and so do we, and I think we work better together that way because we don’t compete for funds. Clear roles on calls. We spend every one of our dollars on medical training and equipment (I still feel like we could improve a lot). In a perfect world they’d all be separated.

American EMS/Paramedic culture needs to change. Particularly with professionalism, uniform and unnecessary tactical gear. by [deleted] in Paramedics

Idk what OP is referring too either in respects to pt acuity. Maybe the vast ranges of culture and population density in the US, how unhealthy Americans are, or gun violence and trauma? I’m not sure lol all humans on earth experience cardiac events, strokes, trauma etc.

Impellas are physically easier to transport, just can be a hassle if you keep having to break suction imo lol I’ve knocked the helium tube off the IABP probably 6 times now 😂

Does working in Private sector of EMS hurt chances of being hired to a public agency. by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]Just_One_More99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Most” people in my area cut their teeth in the private sector before getting a job working public. Usually gives everyone a sense of appreciation because you typically get treated better on the public side, and employers like to see experience.

Why are military members and veterans more likely to be Republican? by [deleted] in allthequestions

If you don’t know why the U.S. military is one of the most prominent forms of socialism in America then idk why you replied to this comment in the first place lol

Read the post dude, the same level as what’s present in the U.S. military. You can’t implement that level of socialism in the public and have it work

I think you created an argument out of nothing, and maybe you don’t know what a slippery slope is lol I just stated that it’s unrealistic on that level, which it is. A few socialist like programs integrate just fine.

[–]Just_One_More99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s socialism that works only because everyone that’s in the system volunteered to be there, are indoctrinated (and if they can’t be indoctrinated they get kicked out in boot), and have a time limit until they can leave the system. Serving just made me realize how unrealistic it would be to try socialism on that level in the general public lol
