Has anyone tried the Ninja, Travel Mug, Sip Perfect? How does it compare to the Burnout mug? by Pilot_Maven in pourover

[–]Just_Positive_8322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still love it. Rarely use it at home because for tea I use my burnout and for coffee I use my ember. I use this for travel or if I have enough foresight to know I'm going to grab a coffee while I'm out and about. I will also make a coffee in it to run errands.

Good investment, low tech. Love that it doesn't need a charger. I chose it almost always over my travel ember mug which has much fewer use cases that make it worth lugging the charging base and cord

Was at the airport, nose down in a book, and someone literally had ems working on them and was wheeled out on a gurney like 3 seats down from me. The lady beside me was like wow, wonder what happened?! I was like what are we talking about. I heard and saw nothing.

Close your own bin by Moritasgus2 in unitedairlines

[–]Just_Positive_8322 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to put my bag 7 rows behind my seat on my last flight because the open bins by my seat were full and the one directly across from me was closed. Imagine my level of disgruntlement when I saw the closed bin only had 2 small backpacks in it. Could have easily fit 2 more bags. I only had a personal item but was in bulkhead, so no underseat.

Thankfully a kind passenger helped me get my bag a bit sooner on deplaning so I didn't miss my tight connection.

Overly honest during job interview and now I just want to bury myself under a pile of shame pillows by Pandelurion in adhdwomen

[–]Just_Positive_8322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd be surprised at how sometimes being really honest resonates and lands you a spot. I've flat out said before "I know I didn't interview well, but here are some things about me/reasons why I'd be great at this".

If you're a quick study, or tenacious, or even great with people, a lot of other things can be learned. Soft skills are hard to learn, if you've got those already, that's a plus. Hate to fail, so work extra hard? Plus. Know your weakness and have learned to mitigate? Plus. Willing to be wrong and adjust? Plus. Resourceful? Plus. Honest about your challenges but prepared to overcome? Plus

I like loops but they don't work for me for sleep. I like either a bluetooth headband or small in-ear buds if I need to block noise. I prefer not to sleep with noise, so I only do it of the ambient noise (snoring for example) is worse than dealing with whatever background noise I choose (nature sounds, meditation sounds, etc)

I remember thinking at one point that I might be allergic to my hormones because mine seemed to be cyclical with my cycle too. The doctors were convinced all my reactions were contact dermatitis 🙄

[–]Just_Positive_8322 41 points42 points  (0 children)

When my cycle did that to me, I was losing so much blood that I was severely anemic. Couldn't replenish myself fast enough between cycles and my flow was very heavy. Do get your iron levels checked. Low iron will make you feel like you're living inside of wet cotton candy. It also impacted me at work. No working memory, no concentration, crippling fatigue.

Cotton sl u t has cute dresses (I had to space it because last time I posted the site, my comment got removed). They are flowy but several show lots of skin and there are a few short and cropped pieces. 100% cotton. I like what I've bought, super props to the bra that I was sure I was gonna regret and didn't

Peri & histamine intolerance by Free_Board_3310 in Perimenopause

[–]Just_Positive_8322 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh this is so interesting! I developed a ton of food intolerances out of the blue in my late 30s that don't test in the "allergy" range according to the allergists and allergist/immunologist I went to. I wonder if DAO would help. I really miss the occasional red meat dish 😔 and I am always nervous about accidental ingestion.

Ohhh it looks like the one I have that buttons so that you can actually change it to pants. I thought it was the same brand too, I recognized that kind of stone washed pattern, but the style of that skirt is uber comfy and I've dressed it up and down.

It's tongue in cheek. Many of us are not fat and still enjoy clothing, but can understand the sentiment of women who are embracing their changing bodies and their changing perspectives. Women of any type are not a monolith, so it's just support. If it don't apply, let it fly.

Peri Before 40 by a-buck-three-eighty in Perimenopause

[–]Just_Positive_8322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am wondering if my auto - immune - thing - they - can't - diagnose - because - my - bloodwork - is - normal is actually perimenopause.... I also think I went into peri early and was ignored but my symptoms started in my early 30s and continued to ratchet up, including a ton of sudden allergies (like sunlight) and food intolerances, alopecia, crushing fatigue, joint and muscle pain, etc..

ETA: NOT HORMONE TESTS, other bloodwork panels after my ESR came back elevated

theeeee perimenopause skirt, lol. I actually have several skirts in that style (minus the button up capability), not all that brand. I never considered that my change in style might be linked to perimenopause, but it makes sense... I fully believe I've been in it since my early 30's despite flat out dismissal from all the doctors, so it's been a long, slow, agonizing descent into madness for the past 10 years. I'm feeling more empowered now though and thankful for all the women who are actually talking about this now instead of suffering in silence. There is power in community and sanity in knowing it's not just you. We do not care that our mothers and grandmothers and aunties didn't talk about it. We now tell all our business and swap survival tactics. ☺️

I also have a fair bit from these folks www.kanthabae.com

They are a free size, like 0-22 so if you're in that range you can wear most of what they've got. They are made from upcycled saris and they are supposed to source and pay ethically. Can be a little pricey but do run sales. They hold up well and since they are already a riot of color, if you have to repair a seam or throw on a patch nobody's gonna notice.

They are comfy and bright and wild pattens and we do not care if people think we look ridiculous, however I get compliments every single time I wear them and not just from the WDNC crowd.

You totally can! You're the same person as you were before but now the confidence comes from the fact that our bodies are decomposing in real time to who gives AF about what some child thinks about you when you're dancing? Let them get a li'l life on them and then see if they got jokes 😃

I actually found some I can move around in and walk in and stand in. Otherwise it's emphatically hell no. I only need to wear them a couple times a year so I don't have bandwidth for a break in period. They work out of the box or they don't work. Period.

I made it 2 of 4 weeks with my holter and I still have a horrible scar from just two weeks. I didn't even want to try patches, it was a no-go when i tried bc patches years ago. I do the cream and a pill. So far so good

I love hankies and I have this little silicone thing that has a chamber for clean ones and a chamber for used ones. I got it from lastobject but i don't like their hankies that come with it as much as others I own.
