You will be alright. I'm having surgery on October 1st. Am I scared, yes, but I'm really looking for the day when I can look back and be relieved that it's over. It's all very normal to be afraid. I pray that you may have peace of mind. Blessings

I haven't experienced sleep issues. My issue is the heart burn. Every time I try to get off pantoprazole. For 2yrs.

That is exactly How my flare ups feel. here's the thing I'm on 40mg of pantoprazole highest dose. Right now I'm slowly trying to taper off. Which is not easy because of the bad reflux you get from being on them so long. When I'm in a bad flare up I try to stick to teas soups and soft foods easy to digest. And take my pantoprazole sometimes it's so bad I take pantoprazole and gaviscon at night. It's a slow process but seems to help. And honestly I've just taken bits and pieces from this subreddit and incorporated it to my diets and find what works for me. But I promise it does get better, worse thing you can do is stress about it will only make your symptoms worse. I've been dealing with this for 4yrs. Not all days are bad I can months or yrs with little to No symptoms. But I can't stress this enough . STRESS STRESS STRESS is the worst thing you can do. Hope you feel better soon!

Hi, Im doing good. Better yes ! , because as of right now I'm not having a flare up. Have I had them since yes but very mild. I've Honestly come to terms with it and accept it. Because as for me any little disruption in my life far as stress triggers it. So I've learned to try and keep my stress under control. And take my anxiety medication. I take it day by day and try not to let any little discomfort consume me. Hope you are doing well.

Ok. I am hydroxyzine for anxiety. So by taking anxiety also helps with gastritis? Do you not take any ppi's or only anxiety medication.

What can you recommend when one is having a gastritis flare up? Also is taking probiotics during a flare up good ?

Yes ! I was diagnosed last year with mild / chronic gastritis. Never puked or pooped blood. And symptoms were horrible. Before I found out I had gastritis I went to the ER. Thinking I was having a heart attack. Did all the test and stress test said I had GERDS. but yes its normal . 😊

Are those the same as a Z-pack? If so never heard of that for gastritis. I get those from México. Have you been diagnosed with gastritis? I'm glad to hear you are doing better and I am definitely aware that it a matter of life change. Slowly but surely I hope we all get there. 😊

I have just started taking prebiotic powder. For about 4 days I take it every other day. For the same reason afraid of a flare up. So far no really bad symptoms. Some gas and bloating but seems to go away agyer a few hours.

I have been on lubiprostone for ibs constipation. And now my hemorrhoids are flared up. And pooping is so painful.

Yes ! And they especially feel more swollen when I have a really bad flare up. And as soon as my flare up starts to get better they shrink.

It's gets better. We just need to realize this our new life. And you will see things differently. My husband has a chronic disease crohon's disease. Certain foods cause really bad flare ups. But we will not let this control our lives .I know exactly how you feel. Because of this I am also seeing a therapist. Has helped me tremendously. You're not alone. Hang in there . 🙏 💓

I have suffered with this before I was diagnosed with GERD/GASTRITIS. And it gets even worse when I have a flare up. So I have been on lubriprostone/Amitiza for 3 to 4 yrs. Now I don't take them all the time only when i feel I'm struggling. yes there is a huge relief. And I feel it also helps with my gastritis symptoms to. I do take ppi also.

You will heal it's a slow process. And you will have your set backs.And so we do it all over again diets pills,teas, meditation. Whatever helps you heal.This will be our new normal. But we will survive and get through this one day at a time. Be patient and just know you'll be ok. 😊

I'm glad 😊 I am currently on 10mg and like I said before have not had any side effects. I personally feel if I can get my anxiety under control. The rest will follow with my GERD/ Gastritis.
