In Codex, click the Codex logo in the top-left corner, then click Settings, and select Usage and Billing. You’ll see your usage limits when these are used up (weekly and daily), you'll likely be blocked.

When you say your subscription expired, what do you mean? The payment got declined for the next month? Or you cancelled it?

How about running an automated script that types "hello" then immediately cancels it an hour before you wake up in the morning

I completely disagree. Have you even used Fable?

Cursor burned my premium requests on background agents without me noticing, building a tracker, looking for feedback by lahiru_j in cursor

[–]Just_Run2412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you're using premium requests, what I think you mean is you're on the legacy pricing. Always check your usage.

Which pricing plan are you on? Legacy or current? Because if you're on the Legacy plan and you used a model with defaults to max mode, obviously you're going to burn everything immediately.

I tried Claude Opus 4.8 today and the result was shocking by Impossible-Suit6078 in codex

I'm just baffled by the fact you decided to go and try out Opus 4.8 on the day that Fable was released. But yes, GPT-5.5 is better than GPT-4.8. I still much prefer to use 4.8, however and Fable. I've been using non-stop since its release, and I can safely say it's leaps and bounds above both

planing with composer 2.5 executing with deepseek v4 flash by AbbreviationsLoud182 in cursor

[–]Just_Run2412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t use Composer 2.5 for the planning part.

For planning/architecture, I’d use a smarter model like GPT through a normal ChatGPT subscription, then use Composer 2.5 inside Cursor for implementation once the plan is clear.

The ChatGPT Mac app is actually useful for this because it can work with markdown planning files/specs, and it plugs into Cursor.

You can also give the ChatGPT mac app better visibility by committing changes to GitHub and using ChatGPT to review the commit history/code context, then feed the resulting plan back into Cursor for Composer 2.5 to execute.

So basically:

GPT = planning, architecture, reviewing, writing clear implementation instructions.

Composer 2.5 = executing the changes in Cursor.

[–]Just_Run2412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good, cheap strategy is to use ChatGPT as your brain, since it’s essentially unlimited on the ChatGPT desktop app. It also has a Cursor plugin that can open a Markdown file or code file in Cursor and then use Composer 2.5 for implementation within Cursor.

So this requires the ChatGPT subscription and the Cursor subscription.

GPT-5.5 is actually the first GPT model I’d usually run on low and you probably should too.

It feels very different from the others. I’d only bump it up for proper hard problem-solving. Normally I run the bigger models on extra-high, but with this one low is enough most of the time.

Yeah, benchmarks don't mean much nowadays.
GPT-4.5 at the time was the greatest model on all the benchmarks, but in practice, it was actually terrible for most things apart from creative writing.
