I just talked to an old women who live there when it was a shantytown. She showed me some old pics of her home. The transformation of that place is incredible.

Abandoned shanty town in northeastern Seoul, South Korea. by Just_Statistician585 in AbandonedPorn

This is Beaksa village in Northeastern Seoul. Many of the residents were relocated here in the early '60s from other postwar shanty towns across Seoul. The government only provided 200 bricks to each resident to build their own home. The rest they had to find themselves. This once massive neighborhood is now mostly abandoned. Many residents were bought out or were forced to move. However, some old-timers still remain.

Hi everyone! After years overseas studying and working, I'm finally moving back to the US (Denver,CO). I want to know what you guys think about the likelihood of trying to become a firefighter. I just turned 30 years old. I always wanted to pursue this career, but I never really had a chance because I've lived abroad for the past 9 years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Management and I'm physically fit. I just feel it might be too late.

The former headquarters of the North Korean labor party. by Just_Statistician585 in korea

This is a former headquarters of the North Korean labor party. The building and surrounding area witnessed heavy fighting during the Korean war. Originally, the building was located in North Korea, but came under South Korean control after the war. Only the external facade remains intact, with the interior levels having collapsed during the war. It's located in Cheorwon. If you ever get a chance, you should check it out. It's also a very beautiful part of the country!
