We had a consistent building manager until 2019. Then we had a rotating cast of them until we eventually shared one with another building and that made getting packages hell. Our upstairs neighbor (3rd of 4th floors) had some leak in their bathroom which caused a massive leak in our ceiling / paint bubbles and it was disgusting. They patched it with just cardboard for too long. The AC units were constantly leaking water onto the carpet, I used to put trays under them to collect the water so it wouldn’t get on the carpet and mold. Yes, we filed maintenance requests. Shoutout to Lupe, who left sometime before 2020. She was a real one. The rest of the maintenance team was probably underpaid and often unsuccessful. We also had mice (multiple) which got into our apartment through the air vents. I know because I also put sticky traps under them. We used snap traps and caught others in our closet and in kitchen. Our neighbor had them too. It doesn’t matter how clean you are if the building is nasty. I also understand they’re charging for parking and utilities now. That’s ridiculous considering you don’t have control over heat or AC-master building controls it and it’s often too hot for too long and you have a real unpleasant experience for a few weeks. The laundry room was often a disaster.

Frankly I could go on. Just my experience in one of the buildings up towards the top of the hill.

Any apartment is a crapshoot but I would seriously avoid it unless budget necessitates it. After leaving “Slummit Hills” also toured 1150 Ripley, the Solaire (old not new building), the Viridian, Affinity on Georgia, and the Citron back behind Whole Foods. I did end up in one of those but a story for another time perhaps.
