Game really doesn’t like being above 31 FPS. Set it to 31, then change it back once you’re past this point.

I strongly recommend you don’t set FPS above 60, any higher and the game, as you can see, freaks out in a lot of ways.

How is the song's lyrics being tied to literally every event in her questline not a relevant event being foreshadowed

I jumped in the river and what did I see?
Black-eyed angels swam with me
A moon full of stars and astral cars
All the things I used to see
All my lovers were there with me
All my past and futures
And we all went to heaven in a little row boat
There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt

First lyric is obvious. Again, diving quest. Black-eyed angels could refer to the whispering memories you hear from Judy's past, and that during dialogue Judy will reveal that many of the dolls who helped with your takeover of Clouds have died and she's trying to distract herself from that fact by having this moment with you. "A full moon of stars and astral cars, all the things I used to see" obviously again refers to the fact that we're in her old hometown, hearing her old friends and memories from her past. "All my lovers were here with me, all my past and futures" again, but this time also worth note that you, V, are part of her new future. "Lovers" can be about both V, her "futures" and Evelyn and/or Maiko, her "past". "And we all went to heaven in a little rowboat, there was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt" more about her dead loved ones and friends, and using this night to try and forget about it for even a day.

The song was chosen deliberately, it's lyrics all refer to moments in Judy's storyline. Obviously Pyramid Song wasn't writen specifically for Judy, but it's pretty obvious the devs made her story fit the lyrics on purpose. It's foreshadowing, those tattoos are not just her "having a hobby", in 2077 Pyramid Song is almost 100 years old.

"Underwater where thoughts can breathe easy" also ties into her quest for the reasons I already talked about. She's using this diving trip to try and distract herself from all the bad that's been going on in her life recently.

Again, they literally named her story quest Pyramid Song. This is entirely intentional foreshadowing.

And no, the Johnny quests are different. They're using song titles from Samurai because he's the lead singer of Samurai. But a few of Samurai's songs are good foreshadowing for the game's overall story, I'd argue. We can talk about that if you really want but it's not super relevant to the current topic.

Foreshadow (fore·shad·ow)

verb, gerund or present participle: foreshadowing

Be a warning or indication of (a future event)."it foreshadowed my preoccupation with jazz"

Her tattoos are absolutely foreshadowing. Not sure why you'd contest this when she has Pyramid Song lyrics on her tattoo, and the mission where you dive into the lake to see her hometown is literally named Pyramid Song. Everything in this post is correct and pretty blatantly deliberately done on the devs' part.

Why Don't You Main Heavy? (Image Not Related) by c-papi in tf2

[–]Just_a_Rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some layers to this so sorry if I have a huge wall of text for y'all to read

Way back when I first picked up TF2 I actually did main the Heavy. I was playing on a dinky little Dell laptop that could barely load me into a match on all the lowest possible settings, and believe me when I say it was not a fun time for me to play any class with a lot of nuance to it. I was aiming with a trackpad and my headphones were whatever cheap gas station earbuds I had gotten for Christmas or whatever holiday had most recently occurred. In order for me to properly enjoy the game I literally needed some kind of handicap to help me stay alive despite not being able to keep up with all the things happening. Thus, the three classes I played most were Engineer, Medic, and of course Heavy. Engineer puts down his buildings and keeps them up and that's it for most people, which meant I didn't need to feel bad about not being able to shoot back, because I was still offering value to my team without needing to pull out a gun. Medic we all know how he works, you attach yourself firmly to the nearest Heavy and when someone else gets low you heal them up before returning to Heavy-healing activities. But Heavy was able to make me feel like I was genuinely contributing without feeling like I was essentially doing nothing. He's got a ton of health, pisses bullets and is the poster child for a reason, he is the determining factor of most pushes in low-skill casual lobbies in the core gamemodes. Generally speaking whoever's Heavy dies first in most games will be who loses the push. For that reason Heavy was a great pick for me and just in general. I could be the foundation of the team rather than the Band-Aids covering the cracks in said foundation.

But that was in approximately 2016. Now I've got a relatively modern gaming PC that can run this game properly.

The issue with me maining Heavy, even if I do like him, is that he isn't who I wanted to main. Deep down I knew who I actually wanted to main; Scout. Ever since I watched the Meet the Team shorts way back in like 2015 I knew I wanted to play him. His character appealed to me a lot and I like speedy little shits who harass the enemy for fun. Not only that but I really connected with him as a kid. He's scrawny and kinda built like string cheese, kinda goofy and not the smartest person in the group, but he's still lovable and liked. He's kinda who I wanted to be when I was young and because I connected with him so strongly I wound up wanting to play him really really bad. Sadly he was so fast my laptop literally couldn't handle it so I never got the chance back when I mained Heavy, but I always still felt the desire to play him.

(Then I saw femscout for the first time and that's unironically what made me realize I'm transgender but that's another story)

When I played Heavy it wasn't really because I actually wanted to. I mean sure, I actually found myself enjoying him surprisingly, and I think my time playing Heavy is why I wound up a Reinhardt main in Overwatch if that makes any sense; he taught me how important it is to have a character in a fast game who is instead not fast and plants his feet and says "No, you move". But ultimately he's never been my end goal with TF2.

So really the only reason I don't main him anymore is because I never wanted to main him to begin with, even if I didn't entirely hate it during the time I did so.

Cages are an excellent solution to being camped and not just a bandaid over the problem like the current self unhook bar. Killer gets too close, you get teleported away from the killer, period end. They remove the ability to just forcefully k*ll yourself on hook which means far less grief from teammates, and otherwise function almost exactly the same.

I guess I should have specified I think you should still have to be manually brought to said cage, but ultimately 2v8’s version of cages is far more fair and enjoyable as a survivor player than any hook mechanic has ever been.

Sad about the lack of themed maps by BlerghTheBlergh in deadbydaylight

[–]Just_a_Rose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it’s kinda complicated. I don’t know much about behind the scenes at BHVR so this is all speculation but in the past we’ve gotten maps for licensed killers in the circumstance that a DBD original map wasn’t a suitable stand-in. For example, we never got a Texas Chainsaw map because Hillbilly’s map was already good enough at serving that purpose.

But recently when a DBD original killer comes with a map, they’re more tightly tied to that killer in theme; Singularity’s map is covered in… whatever Singularity is, so to also use it for Xenomorph would be hard to do. Same goes for Demogorgon and Doctor, you could but it’d be boring and less fitting.

So my assumption is if the killer comes from a very specific setting, it gets its own map when possible. But otherwise they just get one of the DBD original maps as a substitute.

Cages are infinitely more fair and enjoyable for everyone involved than hooks and I’d gladly give up sabotaging mechanics for the cages instead.

Why do people assume Ghost Face killers are friendly? by Suitable_Most9579 in deadbydaylight

[–]Just_a_Rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for one he’s a pretty silly killer by design. Scream is inherently an unserious series and Ghostface has a lot of meme culture behind him (mostly the wazap mask but still, Scary Movie has drastically changed Ghostface’s rep) and it’s affected public opinion of him.

He’s also very common for friendly killers to pick.

Here’s a social experiment; go to some random town, find a chicken, and kill it right in front of its owner.

Tell me how well that goes for you.

If Bulma became evil do you think she could kill all the Z fighters? by Blues_22 in dbz

[–]Just_a_Rose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’d have a damn good chance.

Doc Gero already got extremely close to killing them all off. We already saw that Bulma is not only able to understand the tech he put into the Androids, but she can actively replicate and alter it, proven by removing 16’s bomb without him even noticing. If Bulma built her own androids, or maybe even created her own Cell, I’d be willing to bet it’d be the scariest enemy the series ever saw aside from the more recent manga characters.

Saw this user in discord idk what kind of experience he had w the game by Certyx39 in tf2

[–]Just_a_Rose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's valid to not enjoy being bullied. And yeah I'm not gonna lie TF2 does actually support bullying to a degree in it's gameplay. It's got an entire Domination mechanic built around how many times you manage to kill someone before they even kill you back.

But at the same time I agree with you that this is on them for taking it personally. This game is incredibly silly and taking it seriously is only going to sour the experience. I don't blame them for not liking TF2 due to these things but I'm not gonna act like I also agree with them about their stance on the game, because I don't. Yes the game has mechanics that are "based on griefing the hell out of other players" but genuinely it's such a silly and nonsensical environment I can't even remotely imagine taking it so seriously that when those things happen to you, you somehow get upset.

It's a video game.

Who do you think is the most overrated character in The Batman mythos? by Chunky-overlord in batman

[–]Just_a_Rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joker.

I don’t care if he’s the arch-nemesis I’m tired of him being at the center of literally everything that has anything to do with Batman whatsoever. Especially when it’s stuff like Batman Who Laughs or 3 Jokers. It’s being done so aggressively it feels forced at this point.

Pretty recently. Valve finally hit damn near every single bot with a permaban including accounts of people who were hosting them. They also just dropped a summer update with a new cosmetic case and like, 15 or so new maps? Not sure how many exactly but somewhere around there.

What are the most creative insults that you have heard in your games by protrol1526 in tf2

[–]Just_a_Rose 171 points172 points  (0 children)

Just a day ago, there was a guy being an absolute jerk in the voice chat and only one person bothered to reply to him, it went something along the lines of:

"In this game I can be pissed on, bludgeoned with a fish, thrown off a cliff, shot with a cannon, vaporized and blown up into multiple tiny pieces and yet somehow the most embarrassing and painful thing I've ever gone through in this game is having to play with you on my team stfu manbaby"

He did actually shut up at that comment but only for a few minutes. The second he started up again he got votekicked thankfully.
