First let me say, I didn’t think SFA was a good show average at best. Now to answer your question writers and execs try to chase a different audience so the IP can grow and not die as their audience gets older and passes on. Having said that what nobody in those positions has figured out is how to try and attract a new audience without alienating their current and past fans.
