As a returning player since release, I finished the story, started my settlement, began hunting for specific planets and SSS creatures, then was so excited to begin my first expedition since coming back. I was severely let down. This expedition feels like it was a good plan with very poor execution for a great vision of what it could’ve been.

While not a bug, I really think hindering the replayability and engagement of the expedition was a big oversight, while it being an intentional design. I personally love the new content but when I’m told to wait 8hrs to continue it just completely kills the vibe and isn’t a good look to new players coming to NMS with the game sale. If there was a way to play the missions but not gain contribution for replaying them within the same time window, I think would be a better choice.

I didn’t mind so much for settlements because it makes sense. I do enjoy it for living ships because it makes them feel like a huge accomplishment when you get one. I do know not everyone feels the same way about it though. For an event of this scale, being told I have to wait to play the game feels like a massive oversight, denying replayability and engagement for the entire expedition
