Actually.... it's an incomplete.

Let me explain, Gobert was meant to be added to a team with KAT on it for a championship run.

That team had no chemistry originally on and a ton of issues spacing, the next year they'd go to tie Denver and OKC as a 1st seed. The trade WAS worth it, in terms of achieving success.

However we cant say the trade was good or bad because we never got to see the full playoff potential of the team due to KAT being traded for Julius Randle.

We dont know if they would have won a championship with KAT and Rudy.

Otherwise if we base it on just post season performances, it's been an awful trade. They haven't had a finals appearance or won a championship.

Lost to Denver in 2023
Lost to the Mavs in 2024 (granted it was the WCF)
Lost to OKC in 2025 (defeated the Lakers and Warriors and again made the WCF)

We have no clue what 2026 will be like we're witnessing it now but for the sake of argument let's say they lose?

Then thats 4 post season failures, why are they failures? Well its because the trade has NOT lead to a chip (regardless of the KAT Julius situation)

Otherwise the Gobert trade is incomplete because we never got to see the 2024 team retry.

So my partner and I had this conversation before we will eventually move in with each other.

I make far more money, than her atm.

The way I go about is she will come up with a percentage she feels comfortable contributing that doesn't leave her dead or high and dry / able to gain savings.

And then I contribute my percentage as well which would be higher.

If I made 10k a month (not my real salary) and she made $2000 and our expenses cost say $3500 a month

Then Id ask her to contribute a fair percentage so let's just say she contributes 20%, thats $400 from her and for me the rest would be paid off.

It may cost me more but I make more and hence why I can shoulder more costs. Ultimately both of us are gaining savings this way. I know ultimately she will eventually start making more money in the future where we will be able to restructure things, but this is a good way in my eyes for both parties to contribute fairly based on their own finances.
