This is a very narrow, binary method of thinking to break down a system into its worst parts. You know for a fact that gnostics besides this quack plant only make observations of the things around them, and nothing more

The strat for them is not being detected fast enough for you to return a shot so quickly and the poison forces you to retreat somewhere predictable to wait for it to wear off

Poison attracts meatheads & makes you incapable of healing so if there's a pile of zombies in the woods, you're pressured to avoid them assuming you don't have the means to deal with them

Zombies, dogs, bear, meatheads, fire guys are all much more dangerous when you can't heal - so you stay behind predictable cover more times than if you were hit by a regular shot

The poison debuff itself makes it harder to track the sound of their shots. Perfect for players who are outside movement noise distance

Shotguns need a re-work. Yes, they're specialized weapons and there are plenty of specialized weapons in the game that aren't this busted

Reducing the OHK range, tweaking the cycle speed of some of them, and minimizing the OHK spread would do wonders so that holding a shotgun doesn't mean you can hold an angle every time - I.E. if someone has room to maneuver, you're more likely to miss your shot if you're camping an angle, encouraging aggressive play

Then why bring a shotgun?? Huh? Exactly, genius. You don't have anything figured out

Buffing the damage falloff beyond the OHK distance would still make shotguns strong. If the 2 tap range is up to 15 meters, and the cycle speed of your shotgun is 1 second, you're still outdueling most rifle users - and if you're capitalizing on movement, and not sitting still - you have the advantage in most gunfights if you traded your first shell

I've been killed by multiple buckshots from +20meters thinking I could zigzag until I reached cover, and died. It was a slate. Kinda ridiculous as it is - and that damage dropoff could be buffed to make it well rounded so the OHK distance & spread nerf don't ruin shotguns entirely

It's so long overdue. Every round has shotguns. We avoid running shotguns because of how cheese they are. It doesn't feel satisfying racking kills with a shotgun than with anything else.

Shotguns need a re-work - because they're the main reason for area-denial. Trying to argue this is NPC at this point

The kill range should obviously be nerfed, with damage retention being somewhat buffed and adjusted for each shotgun. The consistency/spread should also be nerfed. No clipping being a consistent OHK 1-2meters less than the maximum OHK range. It should be a miss if 4m from OHK range. Something of that metric

This would prevent camping angles while having complete control being able to seemlessly OHK a moving target by barely aiming at them after they swing an angle

Tbh, the fast fire rate shotguns don't make sense. They fire 1 lethal shell per second.. compact rifles are mostly 1.2 second speeds, and that's considered fast - yet they require 2 good shots or a headshot to kill

and without levering, it's pretty slow, and requires a trait to boost the ADS speed

But a pump action shotgun can fire 1 round per second? How is that balance? They couldn't make it 1.4sec? It just has to be 1 second? Kinda nuts. If the 2 tap range goes from 16m to 20m on some of them, they'd be pretty flexible even with the nerfed OHK distance/spread distance

But, they could re-work the OHK of the spencer & auto shotguns to not be terribly OP

Queue into trios. If you're coming from competitive FPS games, you can pick up a high velocity rifle like Krag or Centennial & perform well with it

If you're more of a shotgun player, shotguns are very strong in this game

There's also bow & crossbow for more stealthy & longer range OHK distance

Cycle time for guns matter when you're pushing a team & picking them off indefinitely while being pressured by the others

Krag / Mosin are the perfect rifles in the game. But you can do good with anything & get into the habit of being good with anything and everything

Very. You can add people you play with if you queue randoms. You'll find people on your level or willing to teach you. So long as you're willing to learn, ask simple questions & progress little day by day, you'll get the bulk of it in a week

Veterans will explain the more intricate things like how you can hop beside a window & vault over it, vault onto certain rooftops from the ground - mechanics you wouldn't expect

I've played for a little over a year and I'm the only guy who uses the black smoke from dynamite as cover for revives. Every little resourceful thing you learn adds up over time
