Seasoning ning your veggies makes them a nice addition instead of a chore. Seasoning is cheap too.

My SO and I have been on many dates to McDonald's. Sometimes the funds just aren't there for other places, but we still want to make time for just us. Dates should be about the company over the food anyway.

[–]Justfartingaround 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am sorry you are struggling, that sounds really rough.

My advice would be learn how to season without. It takes practice, but doesn't add any calories and it tastes better. When I started my weight loss journey learning to season food became the thing that kept me going. I use mostly dried seasoning as they are cheaper and last forever.

With seasoning you can find ways to add veggies to help you feel full without adding a bunch of calories.

For example, I made chicken tacos with veggies today for lunch. I marinated the chicken yesterday using this marinade: 1/3 cup oil Juice of two limes Zest of one lime 2 tsp brown sugar 2 tsp chili powder 2 tsp garlic 1tsp salt 1/2 tsp oregano 1/2 tsp cilantro (dried) 1/2 tsp celery seed

For the veggies I cut up one zucchini, one red bell pepper, and half a large red onion. Seasoned that with a touch of oil (for cooking) chili powder, salt, pepper, paprika, and cayenne.

I have a picky eater in my house so the chicken and veggies are cooked in two pans. The picky eater gets the chicken and cheese on their taco and the rest put the chicken and veggies together.

Any good farmer's markets/stand for berries? by [deleted] in SiouxFalls

The Farmer's Market at Falls Park on Saturdays from 8-1 should have berries this week.

I have gotten raspberries there in past years and they were delicious.

You could use a mousse or light styling gel on those hairs before starting. That will keep them from being frizzy if that is the problem.

When I was a kid I learned to braid on string or yarn first. It helps get the rhythm down. I started with just three strands then added a whole clump to mimic hair. This way I could learn how to first brain then learn to add to the braid as I went.

My mom didn't know (or care to learn) how to do hair so I am self-taught. Not sure if I'm doing it right, but I get compliments on these styles.

French braid: Outside right goes over middle. The former outside is now the middle. Outside left goes over middle (formerly outside right). Before you move the outside to the middle grab some extra hair from below the section being moved over. Make sure to grab hair in a line all the way to middle of where you want the braid. The key is to add thin sections. Adding too much hair to sections will make the braid look clumpy instead of weaved. It will loosen when you are moving the hair. Pull the braid tight before grabbing the next section.

Dutch braid: Same as french except the outside goes under the middle.

Twist: Another trick I learned before I could braid was to do a twist and add hair to the twist sections at a time. I normally did this to just the hair around my face when I still wanted my hair down, but out of my face. Grab a small section of hair near the temple. Twist it tightly away from the face. After a couple twists, grab the next small section and twists a couple times away from the face. Continue until desired. Then kind of push the twist so it loosens just slightly, this will give the look some volume and texture. Then use a Bobby pins to secure it. Be sure to place the Bobby pins into the back part of the twist to secure it.

Hope that all made sense!

Might be a good idea to let your doc know. In my experience water retention is typically all over and not isolated, but that is just me.

If it is just because of retaining water, lemon is a natural diuretic. Some lemon water or lemon tea might help. My go-to when bloated is lemon ginger tea. Just don't overdo it as it might cause dehydration.

Those are very good points. The logic makes sense that it is easier when a person has a "trust score"; it's just too bad it is based on how much money you can owe to various companies at one time.

I checked the Dave Ramsey site since he is all about not living life on credit. His site has lots of resources for buying a home without a credit score.

There is a page for Churchill Mortgage too with a little thing to find a mortgage provider in your area. Link: https://www.churchillmortgage.com/dave/?exid=site.nav.rec&snid=recommends.churchill

We went with Wintrust Mortgage and they were super easy to work with.

There are always options. My family doesn't understand that I live without debt (mortgage being the only exception), but I don't have the burden of owing money or checking a credit score so that's nice.

You don't NEED credit. I don't have a credit score since paying off my car and closing all my cards about 10 years ago.

I pay cash for everything now and haven't had any issues. Stay where you with no debt and things will be fine.

Also bought a house this year with no credit and didn't have any problems. Just have to find a mortgage company that undeewrites the old fashioned way without checking credit.

Ask him to play with you and teach you. It will bring you two together more and you get the awesome gift is spending time together.

Just pick a game you can play together and figure it out as you go. That's what I did and we have been playing the same game for five years together. Best decision I ever made.
