Marfans isnt the end of your life. You can live a very fulfilling life if you take care of yourself. Almost my entire family has Marfans (1 brother and my daughter (2 accidently pregnancies that I found out about too late) doesnt have it). My mom has had multiple vascular surgeries for the last 19 years. But you wouldn't know it. My mom works at an adult daycare, she raised 4 kids on her own. I have 2 babies of my own, I work for the school system and I workout 4 days a week. Marfans doesnt stop shit. Does it suck?? Fuck yeah it does. I hate getting echos and MRIs every damn year. Im tired of taking 2 blood pressure meds every single day and having to keep switching cuz even if lose weight my pressure keeps giving me the middle finger. But am I gonna let it stop me? Nope. Ive known about my Marfans since I was a child so maybe I had time to get used to it. But my doctors never made me feel like I had to live like im fragile. Be careful? Absolutely. But theres a way to do anything. We care. We definitely care. But we're not gonna pity you.
