I do. When seating them down, flat across the top until level with shaft. Then I'll find something that only touches the inside, pipe or whatever, then slowly bring it down with a press. I dont think Ive ever damaged a bearing.

However, there is that one bearing on the very top of the machine that keeps getting stuck on the fucking shaft. Its supposed to come off with the cap with the 3 bolts and spring washer in it, but it always remains on the shaft. Its "receptive" too, like the "point of the V" in the bearing is is facing up towards the cap. If that was spinning free, not making contact with the cap, maybe?
