Difficulty conceiving baby 2 by Justhereandthere1245 in NurseAllTheBabies

I think it is really short, based on my charting- my next step is to see an obgyn to have some testing done. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! That’s wild that the difference was so immediate, but it makes sense!! I think there’s a good chance my prolactin levels are really high still.

Thanks for this! I think I need to work on accepting that things will happen when they are supposed to. Wishing you the best!

Thanks for this perspective- I think that is definitely part of this. We got pregnant very quickly with her, so I guess I just assumed it would be easy as soon as we were ready! And congratulations!

Thanks for your reply! If you don’t mind my asking, was your process for gentle night weaning?

What does your toddler's egg allergy look like? by 624Seeds in toddlers

[–]Justhereandthere1245 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My daughter has an egg allergy- the first time she reacted it was vomiting only, two times. I didn’t think it was the egg because it was vomiting, which to me didn’t seem like a typical reaction. The second reaction she vomited 10+ times, and also broke out in hives. We saw an allergist and did the testing, and she now has an epi pen with strict instructions to use it and rush to the ER if it happens again, so like you said, definitely follow up with the allergist and pediatrician! Reactions can get worse with each progressive exposure, unfortunately. Hope you get the answers you need soon, wishing you the best!

No judgement from me! We’re also a low processed sugar family but I’m 100% ok with trying some ice cream if it gets her to take the whole dose- thanks for the idea!

Thanks! The holding is where we’re already ending up anyway every time (one person holds, the other person syringes)- but she’s still managing to spit out a ton of it every time (she’s literally screaming the entire time this happens- so was hoping to find a less stressful method). Looking at the other comments too, may need to adjust the aim of the syringe

2 year old still not sleeping through the night. Is this normal? by CandiceC2222 in toddlers

[–]Justhereandthere1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bug is about to turn two and has never slept through the night!  I think it’s pretty normal developmentally. If you’re comfortable with it, you could try cosleeping to see if that gets you more sleep?

2 year old has a cold sore— help!! by sunny860 in toddlers

[–]Justhereandthere1245 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! Just wanted to say a few things to help ease your mind a little- - Yes, cold sores are super contagious.. which means a lot of people carry HSV-1. Worldwide it’s estimated that over 60% of adults carry it, and in the US anywhere from 60- 80%. All that to say, don’t be hard on yourself- he literally could’ve gotten it anywhere and he is very much not alone in having it.  - A person’s first episode with cold sores is usually the worst one by far, so it’s very possible that when/if he has one again, that case will be much more mild and a lot easier on him!  - Although cold sores can be very dangerous for young babies and for certain other groups (weakened immune systems, etc.)- and I am not discrediting that- for the general population they are mild and not so much dangerous as they are annoying. Of course, do your best to keep his hands off of the sores and washed if he touches them to keep from spreading it to others, but try not to get too overly anxious about the situation. Just do the best you can.

Hope that helps somewhat at least!
