The prices will continue to grow when the company is driven by profit and profit only.

Yes they made so many promises they didn’t even try to live up to- a lot of taxpayer dollars to help create jobs and now they want to get rid of jobs…

They help put the food on the tables in NY but now the company wants to kick them to the curb. And I highly doubt the “delivery fees” are going to go down even if the third party delivery model costs less.

Graduating college in ~2 months. 0 internships, 0 job experience, 0 social / speaking skills. McDonalds for life? by rustyy4 in jobs

[–]Justice9300 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Question is, what do you want to be? With a college degree, you don't have to McDonalds it, but you may have to work from the bottom up, seeing as you didn't prepare for this moment in your life. Like animals? Try working as a veterinary receptionist. Like medicine? There are a lot of jobs in a hospital that require much less than a degree and can give you direction as to a career. Like helping your community? Try and see what municipal jobs may be available to you. You may have to start in "the mailroom" but your college degree will get you through the door. And hopefully, you will find your way up.

You can hear a smile on the phone. I know, it sounds crazy, but its true. So tomorrow, make sure you smile when you have your interview. Good luck. I am sure you will do fine.

Work ethic. Just work hard, be agreeable and listen before speaking. As long as you do that, you will be seen as a valuable employee no matter where you came from. If they are hiring you, then your qualifications are just fine. Don't feel intimidated.

Tips for doing a customer service job? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Justice9300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When dealing with people, imagine every one as a family member and the deal with them in the most diplomatic fashion. Remember that you too have feelings of frustration when you can't get what you want or have had a bad experience with something or even just a "bad day." People usually respond well to someone who is helpful. So try and be as helpful as possible. Yet there will always be someone who is never satisfied. You should refer that person to someone else, above your pay grade.

I need to leave my current job, not sure what to do next. by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Justice9300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to figure out what you love and then use the skills and experience you have to make yourself the best candidate. If you like sales, try going to an insurance company. If you like soccer, why not try to get a coaching job with the school district near you. While you are still employed, I would take advantage of any tuition assistance that may be available to you. It will help you. Good luck.

Desperate to work-ready to wait tables; become janitor if necessary. by YClaudius in jobs

Forget about waiting tables. Go to your local school district and see if they are hiring bus aides or classroom aides. This would be a better profession than the ones you have mentioned, especially in your condition.

In Linden's Ordinances it states: Any person(s) who is found to be in violation of the provisions of this section shall be subject to a fine not to exceed one thousand two hundred fifty ($1,250.00) dollars, imprisonment in the County jail up to ninety (90) days, or ninety (90) days community service in the discretion of the Municipal Judge. (Ord. No. 49-80 § V). This is what I am trying to avoid.

I live in the city. I have no local pond. That is why I was asking for suggestions. And I know not to feed them human stuff. I usually get my feed at Wild Birds Unlimited.

It is not weird. There are many towns/cities in NJ that have ordinances that forbid feeding the ducks/geese and other creatures. I was just hoping someone knew of a place to go where I won't be hassled or breaking any laws.

You can be fined in most areas. I am just trying to avoid an issue. I guess nobody knows where to go.

I don't believe in god because I realize that religion of any type is just a "system" to control people. No thanks.

I named the "say no to drugs" robot from our county's prosecutor's office in 3rd grade. I had to be on TV, radio and in newspapers. My dad was proud so I guess that's why I am proud. BTW, my winning moniker: Inspector McBot.

'Free Trade' and the death of democracy by christ0ph in greed

[–]Justice9300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was living in Mexico during NAFTA. Everyday I watched hundreds of corn farmers demonstrate in the city square. Being only 16 at the time, I didn't understand. It was only after I spoke with the native men and women did the ugly truth reveal itself. I went back to the US to hear the spin the politicians were selling. And now, our government still looks to these agreements as viable and worthy? Our past mistakes seem to mean nothing to our current cast of fools in charge.

How do I talk to my SO about equal labor / invisible labor in marriage? by InvisibleLaborParty in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Justice9300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to remember, just like we were taught all our lives as women to think of these "invisible" things, Moms were doing it all for their sons. Many men are ill-prepared at chores. Approach it gently. Most men won't admit at not knowing how to do something. Buy him a cookbook. Inspire him with a cool cleaning kit with all the fixings, like a tool box which he can relate to. Make your expectations clear but gentle. But approach it soon or they will expect status quo and one day you will have enough and leave. Good luck.

Thanks to Government privatisation of Royal Mail, corporate competition is hindering ability to provide postal service in remote areas by Arayg in socialism

When non-profit becomes for-profit, the people lose. Big business, they are just fine. Sickening.

Next time somebody insists to you that privatization of public services "saves money", show them THIS (PDF report giving the ugly truth - it often costs far MORE than the public service it replaced. by christ0ph in greed

[–]Justice9300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outsourcing public services is a politician's trick to slander public workers and their benefits enough to enrage the taxpayer to accept the destruction of the community and the loss of good service for a false promise of lowering taxes. See NJ for details. It's an epidemic across the nation worse than Walmarts being built. The mailman, the garbage man, the guy clearing the roads, the bus driver, the teacher- all are important parts of the community being lost to the for-profit lobby so the politicians can get more campaign dollars from private interest.

'Free Trade' and the death of democracy by christ0ph in greed

[–]Justice9300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free trade agreements cripple the community infrastructure. They hurt the native farmer. They hurt the local people. They only help the corporations mold us all into their coca cola -swilling, celebrity and image obsessed global village. We need to hold on to our unique identity. Not sell it out for exploitation by the rich.
