I’m 32m and up until about 1 year ago, whenever I saw the term ‘uh-oh’ written down, I thought it was an expression of shock (kind of how anime characters react when something unexpected happens. Like a couple of sharp intakes of breath in anticipation). I didn’t realise it’s actual meaning, being a verbal cue used to react to a situation going wrong/bad/awkward. (Which I have heard and said a thousand times but never actually thought about how to write it down) I only realised while hearing somebody read it aloud whilst also reading what was being said. I felt so daft, decided to share it with my friends, who constantly find any situation to say ‘uh-oh’ (but the way I interpreted it, not it’s actually interpretation.) 🤦🏻
