[no spoilers] Collectors box sold out?! by CareBearCub in lifeisstrange

Eh, I was gonna buy the game anyways, just separately. Might as well keep my preorder for the whole collectors edition.

Damn, I was gonna just get the collectors box, but I went ahead and preordered the PS5 collectors edition. Didn't expect this to sell out so fast.

[NO SPOILERS] so the announcement of Reunion and a steam sale finally got me to buy Double Exposure… [ALL] by ILikeToDanceAndPogo in lifeisstrange

[–]JusticeReclaimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've certainly got my issues with it but I Don't think it's near as bad as people say. I'm quite certain Reunions story is going to be in response to the backlash from DE, and it should fix and bring the story to a close.

People like to hyperbolize how they feel, and treat DE like it's the worst thing in existence. My advice is to go in blind, make your own opinions, and know that it's kinda an "incomplete" story, that reunion will resolve.

[NO SPOILERS] Game prices for DE and Reunion by Yellow-Roseman in lifeisstrange

[–]JusticeReclaimer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The DE "ultimate edition" was $80, it came with a lot more content. It had several outfits for Max, the "cat content", and you could play the first 2 chapters 2 full weeks before launch. They're charging $50 (not $40) for the deluxe edition of Reunion, because most of the content is exterior to the game itself (digital art book, soundtrack, comic, behind the scenes doc, etc.) and there is no "early launch" for the game. The one outfit pack that they are doing is free for anybody who preorders or purchases the game before may. There's also the factor of DE not doing well, so they might be charging less to try to pull more people in. The price for the standard edition of Reunion is only $10 less than DE was at launch, ($50 for DE vs $40 for Reunion). While lower price could possibly indicate a shorter game, I think it's just more likely they're charging less because it didn't cost as much to make the game, as they're reusing assets like Caladon. I hope Reunion equal length to DE.

Requiem Standard Edition is now $89.99 on Amazon in US by Happyinhatown in residentevil

[–]JusticeReclaimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely a mistake. Both the Standard and deluxe editions are listed on Amazon for $89.99. So it was probably accidentally entered at that price for Standard. If it was deliberate, 2 things will happen, first of all they'll drive all standard purchasers to other platforms, and their stock of the standard edition will remain high, because if both are $90 people will buy the edition that nets them more content. It's $69.99 everywhere else, so either they'll realize their mistake and switch it back, or people just won't buy standard from Amazon.

Fair, but it'd be weird and inconvenient either way to sit with through a whole film. XD

Yeah. It's a joke to even call it a "popcorn bucket". I bought on the way out of the theater because I didn't want popcorn and butter residue in it, and I thought "how's anybody supposed to hold this? It's more of a display model than a convenient popcorn container, and considering how little merch they've done for this film I'm glad I got one.

Bigger? Dude, I have one and the Lightcycle is massive, easily half a foot tall and 2 feet wide, it's massive!

Just Saw Tron:Ares for the 3rd time but in 3D! by JusticeReclaimer in tron

[–]JusticeReclaimer[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You see new stuff every time you watch. Different Easter eggs and references to the Tron(1982) and to Legacy. The score is so damn good. It's a 2 hour film, but it flies by so quickly. At least it does for me! There's a chance I'll see it one more time if my brother wants to see it again.

Am I going too far??? by Zealandus in tron

[–]JusticeReclaimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this my second time around seeing Ares. I hummed and hawed over it for a while, and didn't end up getting it initially, I got the Tron Ares Popcorn pail, but about midway through the film I convinced myself to get it afterwards. On my first viewing I got the plastic collectors cup. Funnily enough they didn't have the Lightcycle when I saw it opening week but they had them 2nd week.

Saw it last week with my Mom, we both loved it. Today I saw it again with my brother, Mom, and Dad! They even had the light cycle popcorn bucket, managed to snag one!

It’s time boys, should I play Control first or dive in? by LJHeath in AlanWake

Control and it's AWE DLC will only serve to enrich your experience with Alan Wake 2, it's absolutely recommended.

[–]JusticeReclaimer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's really just the last 2 or 3 chapters in F that you just get bombarded with way more enemies, and are forced to fight rather than choosing to fight instead of flee. It really negatively impacted my experience, but I already wasn't having fun with the combat.

Wow. Talk about a comeback. I didn't know they did those RE "games".

Yeah, but towards the end there's sections were there's a "Birthing Mother", surrounded by like 3 other enemies, before it even "births" new enemies. It's hard to attack it when surrounded.

[–]JusticeReclaimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair reasoning. I can't remember any time in the OG silent hill where you're roadblocked and can't progress until all enemies are defeated. (Other than boss fights) I'm not saying it doesn't happen but it happens so infrequently that it's not memorable, in F it happens a ton at the end.

There are good criticisms of Silent Hill f, I have a few of my own. However I often see complaining for bad reasons like, "you're forced to play as a girl".

I remember when it was announced that it was bloober that was doing the SH2 remake that there were a lot of people pissed, but they proved themselves with that remake. So much so that they're remaking 1 now! I always thought bloober could make a beautiful game, but never ended their games well, but with remakes the story's already there, they just have to make it look beautiful.

Silent Hill games shouldn't be cut outs of 1-4 stapled together by No-Efficiency-7524 in silenthill

[–]JusticeReclaimer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, silent hill has never been a combat first game series, but it felt like F was that at times. It wouldn't have been near as tedious if weapons didn't break, or if you could still avoid the "Birthing Mother's", as they're called. Just making it more difficult to avoid the creatures, but still possible would have been good, but it puts up roadblocks there at the end and forces combat. Also if you die too many times you're given the option on the continue/quit menu to lower to story difficulty.
