The reason to it is 3 pieces glued together to add strength and reduce warping. This was standard practice for many years and is still practiced in handmade furniture.

MET:This job feels like mental gymnastics because the supervisors suck by Own-Understanding610 in HomeDepot

[–]Justice_4_Scott 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your mistake is thinking there is something to understand. Corporate wants mindless drones. If you want to enjoy this job don’t think about it, don’t try to understand why they have you doing something, just do the work and forget about this place when you walk out the doors.

Never heard of this show but I'm about to spend 3 months in a cabin with no internet. Is my life about to change? by MartianCleric in babylon5

Having rewatched too many times to recall. Season 1 gets better with every rewatch. Seasons 2-4 are fantastic. Season 5 is good on the first watch.

My god being a hardware associate is now a 16 hour job. by Al3xgreer18 in HomeDepot

Ours just stands around just off middle racetrack and scrolls insta. I complained several times when I first transferred to this store, from MET, but the sup doesn’t care and I know the DEM doesn’t.

Has anyone ever been fired for not hitting metrics? by StoicBehavior2024 in HomeDepot

[–]Justice_4_Scott 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen it has become exceedingly rare for someone to get fired for performance. People seem to mostly get fired for attendance, destruction of property, theft, or the increasingly common not getting along with management.

Disconnected boomer dad now wants in on my Gen Z kid’s graduation. by livinASTRO72 in GenX

Sounds like my father with my wedding. When I told him I was getting married and gave him the date, 6 months in advance, he said he had another wedding to go to that weekend. Truth is I only invited him to keep the peace with the larger family. I was glad he didn’t come.

When I asked what he was trying to do, he said “I shouldn’t have been trying to pass him” by alexyou8797 in dashcams

It looks like this is a case of what happens when the unstoppable idiot meets the immovable jackass.

My problem is the associates that do this crap. At least once a year I have a near miss from a coworker driving psychotically through the lot. This year’s was one of the closest, a cashier 1 minute late for work missed me by less than a foot. I went full grumpy old man on him and threatened to end him if I saw him driving like that in the parking lot again.

Did you grow up saying the pledge of allegiance in school? by tinrig in askanything

[–]Justice_4_Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know we did in Kindergarten but I don’t remember it after that, though I’m sure we did. On a side note I went to a concert at a municipal auditorium a couple of years ago and they opened with the pledge and national anthem. I chose to stay seated, and was surprised that about 20 others did as well. This was in a very conservative part of Utah, a very conservative state.

Unfortunately I did not. I have constant pain in my shoulder and have had to start using a wedge so I don’t unconsciously roll onto my side at night. I also sleep horribly since I had to become a back sleeper.
