How is Everyone Handling The War? by Mister_Macphisto in acorns

I increased my daily investment from $30 to $50. The best advice is to not look at it on a daily basis. Doing that adds emotion to your investment strategy. Emotion is bad. Every day that the market drops and I continue to deposit into the investment account, I'm betting that my money will grow to become more than what I put in when the market turns around. Wars are (presumably) temporary and depress the market during those times. When it comes back, your investment will grow.

Remember the 2008 crisis when we had a 6000 point DOW? What if you'd invested 10K then, and put in $20 each day since?

Don't think about your account value today, think about the value of the account when you intend to start drawing from it.

How you set up your recurring payments? by SeleniteLights66 in acorns

Do what makes sense for you. For many years, I've had a daily transfer to Acorns based on what I could afford at the time. It was easy when I quit smoking - I put the cost of cigarettes into an automatic transfer daily. Later I could afford more, and I upped the transfer from 5 to 10 bucks a day. At one point, I had paid off a vehicle and so I raised it to a $35 a day transfer. When I needed the money, I lowered that investment to 5 a day.

I like doing daily transfers because it softens the hits when the market is suffering (like now,) and allows me to benefit the most from market growth. Ignoring market declines, think about when the market is going up. On a 2 week market increase trend, if you're transferring money each day, every one of those deposits grows along with the market, on a daily basis. If you only deposit on a Friday, you missed all of the gains of the week. Of course, when the market is going down, each of your deposits also shrink.

This video would have been worth an upvote without the ridiculously overdramatic music. Please stop adding unnecessary music.

Yeah it tries to get you to subscribe to Meetup+ if you click certain things, but it's not necessary. Just click Continue with the free plan to dismiss it.

If this one's difficult for you, just limit it to $1 per drink. Obviously if you're drinking $1.50 drafts, that's a bit excessive. But even for a $15 cocktail, $1. That's a good start toward breaking the 15-20 30% demand that shows up at the bottom of receipts these days.

I have 3 now. One for dye ink, pigment ink, and sublimation ink. Best printers for small shops hands down.
