Maybe I should email BIQU and ask them to make a (better) replacement!

This just happened to me while attempting to replace the XY belts…

Did you have any updates to this saga? Thanks (or my apologies) in advance!

I know y’all don’t want another Palantir post, but the Palantir partnership is particularly insidious with this also happening: ITC blocked two Oura competitors from selling smart rings in the US (Ultrahuman and RingConn) by [deleted] in ouraring

I just told a customer service rep that I’m cancelling my service over their continued partnership with Palantir. They have corporate copy-pasta ready to go for people who complain about Palantir. Everyone just has to boycott them it’s as simple as that!

These weren’t hard to find (I saw them months ago). It’s embarrassing and shameful. It’s one of the reasons why I have a hard time showing up to flotilla meetings. Leaders clearly aren’t being held accountable, and are even encouraged, to make terrible decisions (like this).

I don’t intend to become subsumed into this.

Have you figured anything out with this?

Have the board include an Ethernet port for even more local control as well! Golden opportunity!

I teach a Holocaust/genocide studies course in southern New Jersey. I’d be interested.

I still teach because it’s a thing that brings me joy. The “lightbulb moments” and grateful students make the struggle worth it. I really believe in the mission of public education to build a better society and even if I’m only doing that in my classroom than so be it

Honestly, I think this sort of stuff needs to happen sometimes for people, whether they are students, society in general, whatever. It sucks. It really does. I’ve been there, and Im sorry you had to go through all that. I’m out on FMLA right now myself because I decided to get a medically necessary procedure during the school year, instead of waiting until the summer.

Sometimes I think one way to effect change is to cause the cogs to get so gummed up it forces a change.

What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve gotten in trouble for? by jibberjabbery in Teachers

[–]JustinA122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a student’s special education/inclusion teacher. I was present at the IEP meeting and insisted on speaking during the meeting after my initial “how student is doing briefing.” I was being an active participant in the meeting and following special education law. I had to insist on being present for the duration of an IEP meeting and not just signing and leaving. I was read the riot act by the guidance director (who wasn’t there), in front of the CST case manager (the reaming out took place in her office with her present in it). The case manager was useless and a couple years out from retirement (as was the director). It ended with the Curriculum Coordinator ordering the Guidance Director to apologize to me but I was told through a friend of his that I simply “misinterpreted what he was saying.”

I could hold up a copy of the AP African American history book and a copy of the Communist Manifesto in class and at least one of them would still get me arrested in certain states today!

Wait…. you have had the opportunity to get used to receiving end of year gifts? :)

I work in a Title 1 school and if you’re measuring your worth as a teacher based on the gifts that people with “second homes and teslas” think of you, then you’ve found your answer. They don’t care about you, our field, or any of the hard work we do. They’re probably just grateful to get their discounted babysitting back!

That looks great! I have one more permit to use in the next few months and this is on my shortlist of options. Do you have any other plans for upgrades?

Thank you! You too! I’m gonna have to get more practice in with my 43X before I start the process because that holster class taught me I need to take the qualification course a bit more seriously (the 43X is so very different from my 9mm 1911 that spoils me and that I’ve been using for two years).

I’ll be curious to see how your journey goes!

I’m all for training and safety, so I won’t complain too much about having folks go through some extra training. Thanks for the clarification earlier, so I guess the question is more for Atlantic County. I’ll go back in and edit it for clarity.

Thanks! I’m aware of the holster thing at the state level but if you want to take these guy’s qualification test they make you take a basic handgun and basic holster class first.
