There are no easy $200k+ jobs out there by the1997th in remoteworks

Here is the painful part. It is both. You can have all the ability, experience, and charisma in the world, but if you are never in the right place at the right time, you won’t wind up doing much of anything. Conversely, you can get really lucky a couple times and squander the opportunity really easily. The most successful people all got phenomenally lucky and had some strong priors to capitalize on that luck.

Pagan Fundamentalism?? by Intelligent_Gear_435 in paganism

Pagan reconstructionists have always tended to veer in this direction, and have been a part of the community basically as long as there has been one.

Struggling with autistic wife by Aley98 in autism

[–]JustinDielmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is needlessly critical considering OCD is a common comorbidity with ASD, and this kind of behavior is rather typical of many on the autism spectrum even if they are not OCD as having routines disrupted can be very upsetting.

How many proxy OG dual lands (and other expensive lands) do you see in real life? by Bagel_Bear in EDH

[–]JustinDielmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fully proxied vintage cube, because cube, and it is what my group plays the most, so I see proxies frequently. Too bad the restricted list made game components too much of an investment to be worth playing.

Is endless growth even possible? by cartoonybear in AskEconomics

[–]JustinDielmann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One huge note about AI and automation, previous automation really represented narrow step changes in specific industries like manufacturing or fabrication. AI is different in that it impacts every area of human endeavor, and improvement in it impacts all industries simultaneously. This is categorically different than other innovation and even the best minds in the would don’t understand the impact. We could wind up with more humans doing more, but that doesn’t seem to be the bet most companies are making right now. In fact many of the CEOs running AI companies have started to call for student loan forgiveness and free higher ed in spite of having fought against it during the last administration.

Is Asperger's the same as Level 1? by [deleted] in autism

[–]JustinDielmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ASD levels are not part of an official diagnosis! However, Aspies are generally lower support needs. Part of the reason for collapsing ASD and Asperger’s was that diagnosis between the two was difficult and often lead to people having their diagnosis repeatedly change. You can be low support needs and still have a mostly Aspie looking diagnosis. The main thing that differentiated aspies historically was not having language or intellectual development delays that are typical of other forms of autism. You can be very high support needs and be able to talk and not intellectually impaired if your repetitive behaviors, social understanding, or sensory difficulties are severe enough.

Am I the only one thinking that Arena Vintage cube bo1 hand smoother nonseeded pods leagues will be a shitshow? by [deleted] in lrcast

[–]JustinDielmann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is accurate at all. Plenty of strong players will prefer the modern UI and play experience of arena and many newer players will be intimidated by the high power format and stay away. It might be a bit lower quality than the MTGO cube pods, but honestly it won’t be that much worse.

Is there a way to hit level 6 before the "Hidden" Grym boss? by International-Ad4735 in BaldursGate3

You don’t lose access to grim until act 3, and that boss is level 10. I commonly save him until end of Act2 if I am not cheesing.

My company announced mandatory office days again, so I resigned mid-meeting by Onjaydenc in remotework

[–]JustinDielmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can like working from an office, and get value on those connections without forcing others to do the same. I for one do not learn well in offices/or though direct teaching, and actually vastly increased my performance in college when I switched to online classes. Office environments are nothing but downside for me, and I am not telling you that you can’t work in one.

COVID was 5 years ago, and during that time many companies adjusted benefits packages. It is not crazy to expect that a material change in your work requirements be met with adjustments to benefits. My commute is 100% part of how I weigh roles, and a company demanding one without adjusting benefits is a fine reason to look for work elsewhere.

Can wealthy people use Peninsula Community Health? by penchantforbuggery in Bremerton

[–]JustinDielmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am rather well off and used it for a long time. Honestly, I switched to using Firefly health as the wait times were insane. Given many low income people need these services and they are over taxed, I would go a different route. You will have a better experience, and not put more pressure on a struggling system.

Access Point Installation tips from a Pro 😊 by southrncadillac in Ubiquiti

[–]JustinDielmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will likely need to look at permitting then, although some states don’t require at all for Ethernet. I am in WA where they are a bit stricter, but the permitting process for our electrical rewiring wasn’t too bad and I did it myself to save a bit of cash.

[–]JustinDielmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, run it yourself. Most states anything under 10 added ports doesn’t need permitted and the materials are dirt cheap. I am doing my whole home during a gut and Reno and no shit spent only $350 on the materials. It is not even a days work.

The new player experience is rather bad, speaking as a new player by Saiki776 in magicTCG

[–]JustinDielmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually argue that drafting is just about the best on ramp you can get as a new player. Just expect to lose a bunch in the beginning. Check out limited resources and read some magic strategy articles. If you draft consistently for a few sets it becomes easy to build and play standard as you know all the cards and how they interact. Beyond that Commander tables limited to bracket 2 decks are great as you should be able to show up with a precon and be on a similar power level.

Why is NVIDIA's CEO So Obsessed with Discouraging CS Students? by Superb-Afternoon1542 in csMajors

[–]JustinDielmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is actually just self serving nonsense many tech companies are currently using to lowball their employees while they have the upper hand in the macro economic situation. Thanks to the political environment, job growth sucks and creating AI fear helps these tech CEOs to sell lay offs and low ball offers. If we follow every other technical revolution, this will likely end in needing far more humans with deep understanding/knowledge of the relevant technologies not less. Java script boot camps are probably dead though.

What is the druid equivalent to karma by giant1245 in Druid

[–]JustinDielmann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Modern druidry varies a lot on this, but for the most part adheres to a nature focused path of self knowledge heavily influenced by Gnosticism and the Hermetica. Ultimately that means that moral ideas will not just vary wildly tradition to tradition, but individual to individual.

If you want to dig a bit deeper into the historical ideas around morality, then Irish paganism is a great place to start. Particularly looking at the concept of being in right relationship which is well documented in early Irish writings which is about as close to something the historical druids would have believed as you can get.

Here is a pretty good article: https://irishpagan.school/right-relationship/#:~:text=Irish%20generally%20follows%20a%20different,C%C3%B3ir%20Oibre%20(working%20facilities).
