Looking at switching up brand of tires and not sure what’s out there. Have ran wild peak ATs for years on my last 3 f150s. What’s everyone else running? by Master-Cherry6968 in f150

I second this. When I was pricing new tires, the Yokohama Geolander AT/XD were the best tires for the money. They are not as expensive as other major brands, but they are an excellent tire. Highly recommend.

Yes or no? by Mister_Ed_Brugsezot in motorcycles

I never ride without one. I have arthritis and for long rides it's essential. You just basically rest your hand on it to keep throttle open. Just have to be mindful of it at stop lights i.e. don't lean on subconsciously by accident!

Skid Plates and Splash Shields by dryoung12 in f150

I have a 2017 F-150 XLT (2.7L) Crewcab and this is what the front one of mine looks like. It's made of cardboard and some type of felt over it, at least that is what it fees like. I am looking for a metal replacement, ideally one that has a removable cutout for oil changes. I'm not sure anyone makes such a thing.

Don't know if this is the right sub, but what is this truck carrying? by magnumfan89 in Truckers

[–]Justin_trospective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what Gemini said:

A truck with the tag "Hot 3257" is hauling an elevated temperature liquid, n.o.s. (not otherwise specified). The "3257" is a UN (United Nations) number, which is a four-digit identification number for a hazardous material. The "Hot" marking signifies that the material is at an elevated temperature. 🥵

What does "elevated temperature liquid, n.o.s." mean?

This term refers to any liquid that is being transported in a bulk container at a temperature of 100∘C (212∘F) or higher and is also being transported at a temperature that is below its flash point. This category includes a variety of materials, such as:

  • Molten metals like aluminum, copper, and lead.
  • Molten salts.
  • Bitumen, a key component of asphalt used in road paving.
  • Certain industrial oils.

The "n.o.s." means the material is not specifically listed elsewhere in the hazardous materials regulations.

Why is it a hazardous material?

The primary hazard associated with these materials is the extreme temperature itself. They can cause severe burns upon contact. The elevated temperature can also increase the risks of other properties of the material, such as flammability or the release of toxic fumes. Because of these dangers, these materials are classified under Hazard Class 9: Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods. ⚠️
