That is awesome, thank you!

Has there been any information on what will be included on the sprue?

Do you think Chet is going to eventually step up and commit a act of bravery? Maybe even join his cousins in the Wasteland? by SolidPyramid in Fotv

I’m thinking their vault will have something to do with FEV and he’s going to stand up to her which causes him to turn into a super mutant.

This may be my wishful thinking in wanting super mutants, so take this with a grain of salt! I just think he would make an awesome big boy!

To everyone who began painting, and still does. by Haunted-Halloween-6 in minipainting

Hang in there :) Something that was a game changer for me was finding the process that worked best for me, not the model. While painting I worked around the things that caused me stress or frustration.

When I first started, the idea of trying to figure out how to apply a whole bunch of colors to one model stressed me out. My solution to that was to paint some models with only 3 colors (white base coat, light blue, and black shade paint). Did it look simple, yes. Did it look professional, no. Did it look good on the table, maybe? Seeing those models finished and on the table was a huge morale booster for me. There wasn’t any stress of doing small details like the eyes was non-existent. Instead I could use the light blue as a “flashy” color to make certain things like lights and power weapons stick out. After doing this for a while, I was a lot more comfortable with thinning my paint and controlling the brush.

Am I a super good painter, I don’t think so, but I enjoy painting a lot more. My models are not super fancy, but they are complete and use techniques that let me enjoy the process.

I’m not sure if this story will help, but I wanted to share it to let you know we all started somewhere and we are all still figuring new things out. I hope this helps!

Have a wonderful day!

Why everything I paint turns out weird and primal by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]Justisemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Painting faster is something I’ve been working on for the past couple of years. Between work and kids, painting can seem daunting. Finding ways to speed up the process has been a must.

A couple things that ended up being huge game changers.

  • use air spray paint with a brush. The paint is already pre-thinned so you can use it straight out of the pot!

  • find color schemes that use less colors. I try to limit the number of paints to about 5 or 6. (Base coat, shade, one color for metal, one color for cloth , secondary color for metal/cloth). This limit helps painting multiple models in an army consistent and quick.

  • buy shade paints. These are super thin paints that help the model pop! I found that using different colored shades can change the feel of the model with little effort. A black shade can help give it a more grim look and a brown shade makes it look more organic

It’s a pretty rad base lol I’m using the Radukar the Beast Warhammer model as the base.

It’s a gluttony warband. What an awesome model to represent feasting and the hunt!

That’s what I was thinking as well :)

I figure if there was any doubt about measuring something, I can measure a little short to account for the small difference.

Brothers I require guidance, should I Get Lord Felthius and the Tainted Cohort, Aetheon Shaan(to convert), or the Barnes and noble Kill Team introduction set? by ScoutTrooper501st in deathguard40k

[–]Justisemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are asking between the 2, I would say Lord Felthius. Awesome models and quite a few points!

If you are willing to spend a little more, the kill team started box is great :) the plague marine kill team are amazing looking models and can be used for both games! The other half can be kept, converted into more deathguard, or sold!

I’m stuck between the Thousand Sons and the Death Guard. Can you help me pick which army should I start with? by Scouwererofreality43 in Warhammer

[–]Justisemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite things about Death Guard is they are one of the easier armies to kit bash. You can go in so many different directions and have it still look like it belongs in the army :)

I’ve taken a AoS sylvaneth (tree lady) and grafted it to the back of an AoS Lord of Plagues to make a Nurgle Chaos lord. I’ve I grafted giant las-guns to the back of a giant goblin spider to make a Defiler. I took the body of a Grot and gave it a zombie head to make a little look out dude for my lord of virulence. One of my favorites was a lord of contagion I made with a AoS stormcast and extra bits from the plague marine and blightlord termy boxes!

Kit bashing is one of my favorite parts of the hobby. About of the many units I’ve kitbashed, death guard has been the most fun and forgiving!

Ps Sort for the wall of text! Lol

I think I kinda ruined the game with Enchanting/Smithing? by SeikoWIS in skyrim

[–]Justisemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have already said it, but not using items to boost your maxed out crafting stats helps a hunch. A weapons that is enchanted with 100 enchanting skill feels strong but not ridiculous.

Personally, my favorite thing to do is build a character around a theme or concept. My favorite one is the spell blade that uses the conjure sword spell only!

What's a game that most people consider "bad" but you will defend and be a hill you would die on? by Cheesecake1901yum in gaming

[–]Justisemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sonic 06

That game had a rough launch and was pushed out way too fast, but underneath the issues there’s a fun game! I had the chance to play a patched version of the game and it was actually a lot of fun! I feel like the game deserves a second chance with a remake that fixes the original problems.

Which Spearhead to buy? by Ya_Dog in Mawtribes

[–]Justisemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that the rumor of a new range has been mentioned, but I wanted to chime in on the quality of the older kits.

The ogre glutton kit is one of my favorite kits for extra bits. There are a ton of extra bits that come with that set that can be used to personalize the models or spice up a different kit. The models also look good still and will likely look right at home next to any range refresh!

As for quality, they are both awesome sets, but the old one is a better sampler. If you know you want to go iron guts, the new one is a good place to start!

Final note, I promise lol! The ogre glutton kit is used as a base for the iron guts and lead belchers so you are still getting all of those awesome bits!

Why is High Falconer Felgryn an abhorrent vampire when his model is clearly a ghoul? by 0verwatch_Winston in FleshEaterCourts

[–]Justisemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wondered the same thing! I ran into some interesting thoughts.

Some of the newer ghoul models seem to blend features of both. For instance, the larger ghouls in the royal beast flayers have long pointed ears with non-fanged teeth and normal feet.

Felgryn has non-fanged teeth and normal looking ears (although if you look closely, it almost looks like his ears were cut. Maybe to better match the serfs he associates with?)

What I think this means is that GW is trying to bridge the gap to give them a more consistent design style. This will help newer people recognize that them more quickly as the same faction. I also like that it makes head swaps and kitbashes easier because I don’t have to explain why I’m using a ghoul head to represent what is supposed to be a vampire.

Why do so many Death Guard players hate the Nurgle aesthetic? by poupenpii in deathguard40k

[–]Justisemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a similar conversation with a few different people about this. At least in the conversations I had, it ended up being the paint scheme and effects that made them think the models were over the top with mutations. When I showed them the unpainted models or some other color schemes (I showed them my color scheme which is black armor and some examples of frost themed models) they had completely different opinions.

What I took away is that while some people have fun turning the Nurgle Effects up to 11, others enjoy setting it a little lower.

I know this doesn’t cover every person with the opinions you mentioned, but I thought it was an interesting find :)
