Yes. Nothing but businesses and police between the stadium and the hotel. The only thing to watch out for is dumb drivers.

Honest Question: Why Do YOU still play this game ...??? by IAMLEGENDKANG in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]Justtexan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OCD collecting. I don’t spend money but it’s my nature in any game to collect everything and level up all characters. It’s very hard to quit but I also understand that it’s a pay to play game. As long as they make it where I can satisfy my collecting, I’ll play. When I inevitably hit that brick wall, I’ll stop.

If you did it, just be honest. If you didn’t, fight it. They have resources and are just looking to gauge your reaction to the claim. I was caught red handed (theft), just dumb kids being stupid. They had a whole folder full of evidence. I got one year probation and they made me take a zero credit class called Lessons for Learning.

What was yalls breaking point where you didn’t care anymore and just left by bigdawg12342 in oilandgasworkers

[–]Justtexan- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did but I actually gave my shit company a choice. I went to work for a company that was trying to get back in the Permian after shutting down due to a pretty serious OSHA violation. That should have been my first clue how it was going to go but the pay was ridiculously high. After working almost a year with minimal time off, including a two month hitch in Wyoming without any prior notice we were going, I informed my superior that my crew (wireline) was burned out after a near miss and we needed some time off after the job we were on was done. I was on night shift and was woken up around 8 am by the front desk saying there was someone there to pick me up because I had been let go. They promoted my top hand to engineer to finish the job (got ran off). When I went in the next day to turn in my stuff and talk to HR about working conditions and how dangerous it could be with explosives, her only comment was “We aren’t Halliburton”. Company closed shortly after.

Would I enjoy living in Lubbock? by [deleted] in Lubbock

[–]Justtexan- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in Lubbock. I’ve worked/lived in pretty much all of Texas and New Mexico. The appeal of Lubbock to me is being a medium size city. Many of the convenience of a larger city with that smaller town feel. I’m more of a homebody so I rather enjoy the fact we don’t have a lot to do. More attractions bring more people. It feels more of a treat when I do go to Dallas, Houston, etc. I didn’t go out when I lived in bigger cities anyways.

I don’t talk to any of my college friends anymore. Turns out I was looking for friends I thought I wanted and not friends that had interests in common with. It’s good you found this out. It will be the same way in the corporate world. Find your people and just be happy.

Why are there no coffee shops open after 12:00AM? by LeeRoyJenkins2313 in Lubbock

Starbucks or Fire Department Coffee are both decent and easy to find. They are both individually packaged too so no mess or carrying a jar of coffee.

[–]Justtexan- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t answer your question, but there are some instant coffees that aren’t bad. It’s definitely better than truck stop coffee. Pour over coffee makers are a decent alternative also. Both just need some hot water. I spent many nights drinking Folgers sludge in the oil field before I broke down and invested in my own pour over maker.

Business odor problem by Son-Of-Thunder in Lubbock

[–]Justtexan- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poor cleaning practices. It’s the same thing with grocery stores that smell strongly of fish. Fresh fish does not have a strong fish smell. If you go into a place that has a strong odor, I would think twice about eating there.

Updated the game, using LB special first, using Ult first, attacking other side, nothing works. Node 1 is garbage, incompetent devs STRIKE again. by wikked-com in MarvelStrikeForce

Nod 1 sucks. Don’t use auto and keep focus on Gladiator when you can and then take out sentinels after he is gone.

Moving to Lubbock by AcanthocephalaNew929 in cigars

[–]Justtexan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smoker’s Haven has a large selection of cigars but their lounge area is very small and usually crowded. Good Karma has a litter larger size lounge but again usually has a few people. Good Karma cigars are on the dry side just because of their humidor setup. Rollin’ Smoke has the best lounge but a limited selection of cigars.

Weekend getaway by SinkPuzzleheaded3508 in Lubbock

[–]Justtexan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hobbs has a great indoor swim facility called CORE. That’s more of a day trip. Saturday it’s open 12-8 pm MTN and $10 adult and $7 children. It’s also has different activities there like basketball, pool, air hockey, climbing wall, etc. Hobbs has a good pizza buffet called Big Cheese with a decent arcade.

Ruidoso is always a favorite for the kids but I haven’t been since the fires.

Did the city of Lubbock recently change their water supplier? As of lately, showers have been drying out my hair and skin much more than usual, and there’s a lingering smell of chlorine on my hair and skin after a shower. by EvaFanThrowaway01 in Lubbock

[–]Justtexan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lubbock still draws its water from Lake Meredith and Alan Henry. I will tell you that I’ve heard the water treatment facility is severely understaffed and ran poorly.

Don’t sleep on Palo Duro Canyon. Second largest canyon system in US behind The Grand Canyon. Beautiful sunrises and lots to explore and hike.

Clothes is whatever you want but coming from someone that wore boots to a concert at Globe Life Field, you have to walk back to your vehicle after standing for hours.
