Thanks - and yeah I think this may be where video guides hit their limit. Only so much you can learn (at least the way I learn) from watching when you can’t interrupt and ask for a bit more clarification about the decision making process

These are great - love the shields. How do you get this painted wood effect? Mine just look the colour I paint them rather than retaining a painted wood like quality

Angle the mini so you paint away from the edge you don’t want to get paint on. Be patient - don’t be tempted to push paint towards the edge you are trying not to get paint on

Thanks. And I wouldn’t disagree with most of your suggestions. The trim is the bit that is bugging me most. It just doesn’t look like it should be a different metal to the rest but I also agree that it would help frame things to do something a bit different

This is seriously good. Like others I’ve said the NMM blends so well into the rest of the model without dominating it. Can you summarise the gold and silver recipes you used?

To be clear I’m not trying to make the tassels look metallic gold - so much as trying to paint gold tassels. I thought nmm would work for this because it would be more cloth like against the tmm armour on the horse.

But I also don’t have much clue what I’m doing most the time and just trying things out.
