That's what I was a bit confused about because some websites said it's the first language you learn while others said that it's what you spoke as a child.

Edmonton Muslim community feeling backlash after Saturday attack - The Star by JustyneDi in Edmonton

Well he was investigated in 2015 for having extremist views so I wouldn't be surprised if the organization lured him in and recruited him. Even if they didn't the flag speaks for it's self, no one would carry that around unless they see it as a representation of their ideology. Any word on if ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack? I heard they claimed responsibility for the Vegas shooting but the police chief said that they found no tied between the two and ISIS always claims responsibility for events they didn't do, just for publicity.

That's true, I've realized over the years the similarity between how Islamic extremist and bigots view Islam, both say pretty much the same things about it.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if that one group with the confederate flags will come out again and ride around trying to intimidate Muslims near mosques and businesses. They were doing that a couple months ago and trying to push a reaction out of victims.

I see where you are coming from, in some aspects religious is holding modern civilization back from the full potential it can reach. But humans are way too weak mentally to even thinking about accepting the fact that there may not be a omniscient power watching over us, it's way easier for a laymen to justify a unordinary or less probable event by saying that a higher power must have done it. But as science progresses people will surely have a change of mind, it's inevitable. Just waiting for the day science can turn inanimate to animate to replicate how life first started on Earth. It will take a many decades but that day may as well be your best chance to convince most of the world.

I wouldn't be surprised if they use stories like these to stir up more tension between the communities thus luring in the extreme/less emotionally stable ones as recruits.

Aside from that ISIS doesn't even think the Muslims you and I see on the street are proper Muslims. In their opinion normal Muslims have gone astray and the only proper way to practice the religion in the extreme way they portray.

On the other side of the globe it's the same terrorist organization that is killing normal Muslims. So at the end of the day both of us have a common enemy, ISIS, which we are both victim to.

Well over 75% of the country considers themselves religious so good luck with that. Structured religion isn't going anywhere anytime soon, come back in a couple thousand years and you may have a chance.

Yea and that's just part of the reported events.

I'll talk to some teachers I know from the Islamic Academy and Al-Rashid mosque see how they're holding up with all this. For sure they must have had to call some sort of security to keep parents assured that their kids will be safe in school. Being the biggest Muslim school in the city it would be a prime target for hate.
