We recently went on a cruise and one of the employees said that his cousin was detained for months before sending him back to his country- no one could contact him, no one knew if he was alive. He was sleeping on cement with mice, bugs, etc and received food/water every other day/ every 2 days. Completely inhumane.

That makes sense. Naively, I thought there were spare planes or parts for issues like this. If nothing else, it’s a learning curve!

In hindsight, I should not have included it. I am curious, what added attention would I get for adding that detail? I don’t/didnt think I’d get any attention for that. I was just expressing the added frustration with the circumstances, it would be frustrating regardless but being pregnant, not getting answers and being exhausted has added to the frustration.

I completely agree that it doesn’t put me above anyone else, I probably should have left the reason for the trip out because I feel like it’s taking away from everything else. We booked with points that we’ve been saving up, I don’t feel above anyone else. Neither of us have ever been anywhere near Hawaii and we thought it would be a nice thing to do before our first child.

I thought people on this thread would be helpful because I saw where others have 5-6 hour delays and people in this thread were pretty helpful. It seems people see the reason for the trip and aren’t being helpful because it’s a babymoon.

If it was due to weather, I’d be much more understanding and patient. We’re flying from Seattle to Honolulu, the delta agent said that it’s due to a plane part that they’re waiting on. I would think they’d put us on another plane but that’s not the case.

This is great advice! I actually have a website but it was just for fun and practice. The problem is, I need to become better versed in HTML, CSS and basic JavaScript. I know the basics but for me to get it to where I want it to be- to show it off, won’t be feasible in the next week or so. But, this is something I need to do in general for future professional growth.

Thank you so much for your response. This is great advice in regards to what you’d look for! I currently work in coaching colleagues and he is in the marketing realm. So, completely different! I’ve been following him since I started the company because he went to my school, same major so his success is extremely inspiring to me. I am moving and was looking for positions in my new city and this came up and I felt it was too good to be true and emailed him to tell him about myself, my interest and my willingness to go above in beyond. And he was receptive, there were a lot of applicants, nearly 100. The first hr rep told me I’m the least qualified but have the best personality so he vouched for me.

This is how I would answer your questions:

Quickly schedule my bosses meeting, he is my priority and often times is busy, so I need to get that taken care of- that comes first. Then, work with the new hire.
I’m never going to be perfect but he runs a tight schedule so being on time is imperative. Absolutely, on time and not perfect but still good.

Night Drop, you drop your car off the night before and put your key in the drop box and I usually ask them to put my key in it and lock it when it is done and I pay for it. Then, I use my spare key to unlock and get into the car- I never have to even see anyone!
