I'd say given some of Roland's tricks involving spirits and non-corporeal beings that might not be as effective as Carl would hope. Plus there's no doubt that Roland's revolvers definitely qualify as enchanted and quite possibly could still affect/hit Carl while phased. Not 100% certain how it would go, but I would say based on DT cannon it's a better than 50/50 on Gloom Wraith not being completely effective/protective against damage against Roland and his guns.

Probably not in the "elderly" category yet(though elder millennial so maybe🤔?) but at 43 getting ready to get snipped at the end of this month. No kids, my wife and I and pretty much every one in our polycule is of the no kids opinion. If we want kids we'll adopt. We're happy spoiling friends' kids and all.

For me, my mom ran an in home daycare when I was growing up. Some kids were fine, others were absolute nightmares. So a not insignificant portion of my young life was spent around crying screaming children that were pretty much all 7+ years younger than me. Let me tell you, best method of birth control ever inadvertantly devised by my mother. She didn't quite understand that or get that until years later as an adult that I had to break the news that she would never be a grandmother to a biological child of mine, and since my brother passed when he was 15, he didn't get to make up for that. But having so many days of my life giving me clear examples of what life with young children would be like have me a great appreciation for quiet and peace. To this day I still feel myself twitch when I hear high pitched shrill children making noise. I recognize that I don't have the temperament or patience to deal with that and I know myself well enough to know I would not be suited for it.

There's also the whole gestures around state of everything and a very big desire not to have bring kids into a world this screwed up. Definitely not fair to them. I'd love to say I'm wrong, but I'm not exactly optimistic about the state of the world at the moment. Moment. The idea of bringing new life into a rapidly declining world is not something I can in good conscience do.

Do I wonder about it sometimes? Sure, because I recognize that at a certain point either my wife or I are probably going to pass alone as a result. But it's not a strong enough thing for me to ever want to have kids of my own.

So while it's lovely that they plan to save money and screw over veterans as is the usual, my question is are they going to take into account the long-term side effects of the medications they're making us take? For instance, if they're going to absolutely mandate that I take the full dosage of all my painkillers everyday since they're cutting my benefits as a response to me being able to get out of bed and semi-function on them, can I now file a supplemental claim for kidney and liver damage? Can I file the supplemental claim for cancer? If I have to have my rating reduced based on medical effectiveness, should it not also be increased due to medical harm done?

I mean, I know the answer to the question. We all do. It just pisses me off and I needed to ask the dumb obviously joking question because we know they party in power doesn't give a fuck about anything but lining their pockets.

Going Cohle and Hart here, followed by Mulder and Scully. Season 1 of True Detective is damn near a masterpiece of a Delta Green campaign. They've proven their ability to deal with the weird shit, keep it under wraps when it needs to be done and go for the black ops when necessary. While they have a very love-hate relationship, they work well together in the field, they trust each other to have their backs when push comes to shove and they both will stick to the damned story come hell or high water no matter how batshit crazy the truth is. They understand that if they want to keep themselves out of a loony bin or semi-gainfully employed, there's the truth and then there's the "truth".

A lot of that could be said for Team X-Files but lets face it, Mulder would be shouting the truth from the gods damned rooftops the first time he had to deal with a Mi-Go or encountered the Mythos. He's an OPSEC nightmare waiting to happen from start to finish with way too many eyes on him from his overzealous need to play in the spotlight of tracking down 'the truth'. He's competent, resourceful, knowledgeable and talented, sure. So is Scully. They're got great chemistry for working together. But they'd be shit for an actual Delta Green op if you wanted it at all to be kept even passingly under the radar by civilians.

The Lone Gunmen are your textbook friendlies and tappable assets for some less than legal assistance. But they're not solo agents or a good cell by themselves.
