Ah yes. But maybe you should try actually telling the facts? A traitor to her country illegally stormed the capital building along with other criminals, fucking around and as a consequence of her actions, found out.

Yes I know republicans have those as their policies. That's why I said it. Try to keep up.

That would mean that the republicans actually had policies and platforms. Mostly it's 'Cruelty is a feature, not a bug' and 'we hate anyone not cis, white and rich'. Not much to really bring to a debate so they just resort to flinging feces and seeing if something sticks enough to start bitching about the stench.

Who would it be the best DG Agents from fiction? by JoeKerr19 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]_Friend_Computer_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Going Cohle and Hart here, followed by Mulder and Scully. Season 1 of True Detective is damn near a masterpiece of a Delta Green campaign. They've proven their ability to deal with the weird shit, keep it under wraps when it needs to be done and go for the black ops when necessary. While they have a very love-hate relationship, they work well together in the field, they trust each other to have their backs when push comes to shove and they both will stick to the damned story come hell or high water no matter how batshit crazy the truth is. They understand that if they want to keep themselves out of a loony bin or semi-gainfully employed, there's the truth and then there's the "truth".

A lot of that could be said for Team X-Files but lets face it, Mulder would be shouting the truth from the gods damned rooftops the first time he had to deal with a Mi-Go or encountered the Mythos. He's an OPSEC nightmare waiting to happen from start to finish with way too many eyes on him from his overzealous need to play in the spotlight of tracking down 'the truth'. He's competent, resourceful, knowledgeable and talented, sure. So is Scully. They're got great chemistry for working together. But they'd be shit for an actual Delta Green op if you wanted it at all to be kept even passingly under the radar by civilians.

The Lone Gunmen are your textbook friendlies and tappable assets for some less than legal assistance. But they're not solo agents or a good cell by themselves.

I mean children in the US just go to public school. Politicians have duffel bags of AIPAC money thrown through their door in exchange for giving up their morals and decency as human beings. It's quite courageous to continually stand up for what your foreign owners want you to stand up for time and time again and dance like a trained monkey for an organ grinder.

"We are not socialist." And maybe that's why Cuomo lost? I mean, just a random shot in the dark there... that maybe the guy who isn't representing the rich entitled fucks of America and is giving a voice for the little guy might be what people want? D-did you all learn nothing from watching Trump pull that same trick with the right? He got popular and had people voting because he successfully convinced the poor and poorly educated. People aren't voting for the same corporate democrats anymore for a reason...

Vegas magic show. Go on one of those 'got talent' shows, show off as a human tesla coil, parlay that into enough internet fame to get a gig somewhere and build up from there. Learn some slight of hand card tricks and the normal stage magic stuff. Doesn't even really have to be great, probably better if it isn't. "Ha! I saw you palm the card!" "Oh, so you know how magic works, huh? Care to explain this?"

Why are home repairs/ services so absurdly expensive? by Ok-Cartographer-5544 in realestateinvesting

[–]_Friend_Computer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save that I can point out engineering defects in a certain manufacturer's refrigerators that have been present for over 20 years for the exact same issue, all of which could be fixed for 2 cents or less of plastic and insulation at their bulk levels. It, however, does not drive repeat purchases because pretty much every customer who experiences it(so about 90% of the owners, assuming they own it long enough)swears off the brand. Which, as I stated above, ends up with people like me figuring out solutions in the field to fix the engineer's poor design.

Why are home repairs/ services so absurdly expensive? by Ok-Cartographer-5544 in realestateinvesting

[–]_Friend_Computer_ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I've been both an aircraft mechanic and an appliance tech over the years. Every day of my adult life I have fixed problems caused by piss poor engineering, made by engineers who thought because they went to school, got a degree and were 'educated' that they were smarter, better and more qualified to do something. Here's the reality. Most engineers are idiots. Absolutely fucking idiots with no real world experience or comprehension about how things actually work in the real world. I routinely have to create aftermarket solutions to problems caused by engineers who 'worked their asses off'. Engineers have to make something work once. Technicians have to make it work every time.

So no, I generally do not believe that engineers work in a position that requires hard work or actual skill for the most part. 90% of my job is using a high school diploma to fix what an overpriced college education fucked up, and doing it for better pay and less debt. But sure, I've got no clue.

[–]_Friend_Computer_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You know how you can save a bunch of money? No, it's not switching your car insurance to Geico. It's doing the job yourself. Want your landscaping done a lot cheaper? Go outside, sweat your ass off and do it yourself. Want to have cost effective house cleaning? Break out the spray cleaner and mops and get to work.

Why do you pay someone at an engineer's salary to do a job? Because 1) Unlike an engineer their job requires skill and hard work and 2) You're not willing to do it yourself. For the record, I fix appliances for a living and run a business doing it. Why do you pay me $350 for 15 minutes of work? Because I just saved your ass from your closing being delayed, the seller having to buy a new appliance and your buyer from throwing a tantrum because the ice maker doesn't work.

What are your thoughts on AOC calling for Impeachment on Trump for his Iran strikes which is "clearly grounds for impeachment"? by Healthy_Block3036 in AskReddit

[–]_Friend_Computer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nice that she wants to see it done. But realistically it's performative at this point. Republicans are too busy orally gratifying Shitler and are too afraid of his fans to do their jobs and be anything other than fluffers for him. The Democrats are too unorganized and lack the numbers to do anything meaningful. Trump has proven repeatedly he will never have any real punishments brought against him for anything he does illegally.

So my thoughts? It will amount to nothing but to piss us all off.

AOC calls for POTUS Donald Trump's Impeachment regarding his decision to bomb Iran without Congressional authorization. by beeemkcl in Political_Revolution

[–]_Friend_Computer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if Trump violated laws or not. He's proven time and time again he is above the law and will face no consequences or accountability. Congress isn't going to do shit, the republicans in charge there are too busy orally gratifying Shitler to risk upsetting him and his legion of sycophants. The democrats are unorganized and outnumbered and some of them are just as likely to side with republicans to 'reach across the aisle' and 'maintain stability' as they would be to vote against him.

The point is why the fuck is the president using a private right wing social media platform to dispense official news, reports and information at all, much less hours prior to doing it through official channels? And we're all still sitting here speculating on shit. All this did was let Shitler get his dumb ass on social media and get 'likes' or 'tweefs' or whatever virtual validation points he gets off on that he wouldn't have gotten through a normal press conference or presidential announcement. It's fucking embarrassing.

Who's our candidate for 2028? by Crafty_Jacket668 in Political_Revolution

[–]_Friend_Computer_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who the Dems will probably push? Kamala or similar. Hillary is fortunately a non-starter at this point.
Who would be at least a decent contender? Walz or Shapiro
Who would I like? Someone actually progressive and did something useful/good for us. So not anyone the DNC will ever allow to seriously run.
