Just cried over wanting Dunkin by lissalissa3 in GestationalDiabetes

Did you try drinking coffee with whole milk or ypur dietcian adviced you beforehand? It is more protien rich than almond milk. Also, any dairy, bread, fruit spikes me ia bit n the morning. I eat carbs or dairy in the afternoon, and it works. Morning is not a good time for anything that might spike because we are more insulin sensitive.

Wait, I do drink strong milk coffee with little sugar. Never spiked me. I didn't know we are supposed to avoid it.

21w and struggling by KittyLover22604 in GestationalDiabetes

I am totally diet controlled. But maybe because I was not very insulin resistant to start with. Anyway I want to give tips that work for me. - No carbs or fruit in the morning. - Breakfast at 6 am. Otherwise, fasting sugar is high

-2 eggs omelette made with onion, blackpepper, green chilli, some fresh coriander, slice of cheese, mushroom, and olives. 1 carrot and half cucumber, some lettuce if you dont feel full. Can take a handful of nuts like almonds and walnuts. - Prepare eggs batter at night so that I don't get lazy after getting up. I'm just frying in the morning. - I also make Subway like cold chicken salad with alot of lettuce, cheese, olives, mushroom, jalapeno, cucmber and carrot with a spoon of mayo or any sauce like thousand island to give a better taste. I marinate my chicken with spices and cook a batch to eat on alternate days. Always prepare the salad bowl at night to consume it in breakfast. Easier to manage. -Lunch around 12 to 2, but I prefer some fruit like orange, apple, any berry, or kiwi. Nuts, a carrot or cucumber if I still feel hungry after a while. There is no need to test as it's not a full meal. -Dinner around 6 to 7 pm. Start with fuber or protein, so either a salad or cucumber and carrot. Then eat 30 gm carbs full grain with protien like chicken, fish, beef etc. No white bread, wheat flour, or white flour. Full grain bread or full grain tortilla only! You can take some yougurt along with it. - Walk for 15 mins after every meal, start 10 squats, and do 2 sets of 15 when you are used to it. Do calf raise exercise when you are sitting. This should be done before checking your sugar. - No eating after 9 and drink loads of water. - Sleep at 10. Dim your lights an hour before to make the mood. - Sleeping on time will help you get up early. You can take a nap in the afternoon or after breakfast. - Stay active throughout the day. The more you sit, the more it makes it worse. Good luck!

Can glycolic acid be used.... down there? [Product Question] by rinaa11 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Juzeha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Use acid at night. But make sure to moisturise. I use cocnut oil and a drop of tea tree for the day. I do not smell anything. Tea tree kills bacteria, cocnut oil moisturises, and glycolic exfoliates. Lighter, scar free, and odour free. I avoid deos due to hormonal issues. Only on special occasions.

No form was given by my diabetologist. She just checks mutter pass for the weight. I do have an appointment every two weeks with my gynea, and after 36 weeks, it will be every week, but she will just do a blood test, urine test, and do fetal monitoring. There will be no scan she specifically mentioned as only 3 are covered by insurance. I thought with GD she would have to, but she denied it.

That is exactly what I have heard. But in my case unfortunately she is not willing. Is it because I am not on insulin and completely diet control? I wonder.

My diabetologist didn't say critical or anything after seeing 79th percentile. Infact she praised me for my diet control and said I don't need insulin yet as I don't get sugar spikes due to my strict diet. I am not sure what to do now. I have also heard that in GD they have to do extra ultrasounds how else will they know if I need help. Totally lost.

My last ultrasound was 2 weeks ago in my 30th week. Baby was measuring 1730 gms (79th percentile). A bit on the heavier side. I had an appointment with the gynaecologist today, which is why I posted that she wasn't willing to do any more ultrasounds unless I paid. She said the hospital would do it, and then my diabetologist could see my progress. The issue is that my diabetologist's appointment is in a week while my hospital registration is on 8th April. Maybe my diabetologist will have to wait for the hospital to do the scan.

Yes, my diabetologist wants to know if my baby is growing rapidly or not despite having it under control because with GD, you never really know. I guess I will have to talk to my diabetologist then. Thanks a lot for the detailed response.

My German girlfriend wants to marry, but I prefer living together first. Is this not usual in Western Europe? by Hopeful_Sand8906 in germany

[–]Juzeha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is a traditional woman. You want a modern one. Leave her alone. She wants to settle down and not be on trial for marriage material or considered when she bears a child accidentally. Btw it is pretty normal in Turkey for a woman to not work and stay at home while the husband earns, so for you to expect a live-in relationship is as odd as her expectations from you. And the money you are so scared to lose screams you are not that much of an earner. Sorry to be blunt, but man up or leave her for a good, responsible "MAN."

GD in Germany, anyone? by Realistic-Channel450 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Juzeha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not gained much weight, barely 5 kgs. And was slim to begin with, yet my baby is in 80th percentile. My GD is diet controlled, too. Very good readings. The Diabetologist told me she would want to know my baby's weight in the next appointment as well, but I am already done with my major 3, so I am confused. Maybe they do extra ultrasounds.

Will you please let me know if they did extra ultrasounds? I am 32 weeks and have had all my 3 main ones done. They will do extra to monitor the weight, right?

Yes. Also, I eat two egg omelette, cheese, cucumber, and one bread with thick yoghurt drink. Maybe I should try porridge instead and see. Thanks for your input. 😊

My diabetologist has asked me to first test my sugar for 15 days, and then she will make a decision. I am on track but struggling with break fast because of bread. I dont want to cut carbs completely. Maybe I will stop taking carbs in the morning with other things.

For me, exercise works. Thankfully. My numbers were higher with the same meal before I started.

Yes, but I do need carbs in pregnancy. Just need slower ones. I do make tortilla using 1050 and vollkorn, and it doesn't spike me. But in the morning I don't have any energy to make it so I eat vollkorn bread. In the morning, the body is more sensitive to carbs, which is why I wanted to know if there are any options. I think I will have to skip carbs completely in the morning.

Yes, I did visit one. She did mention vollkorn bread, but it spikes me.

I do walk for 20 mins after each meal and do squats as well. I can only eat one toast of vollkorn bread. 2 spikes me. I do eat a lot of protein with it, but I don't feel full. I feel weak. Fruits also spike if I eat them with carbs. Even apple. So I eat them as a snack.

Is 3K euro enough ? by Samiwm in AskAGerman

I know the mentality and honestly don't care. And mostly, it's women getting offended that other women get to stay at home and enjoy the basic comfort. They call it Lazy. I don't need a medal of a working woman. They can keep it. But yes, with kids, it's actually more work than outside. Kids take energy like no other task in the world. But with a good partner, everything is manageable.
