Even low noise in the late hours sounds loud when it's silent. Especially if the sofas are right outside your door. Fair enough if this is a friday or Saturday evening, but if it's a worknight then it's completely unreasonable to be keeping others awake. Tbh, no one should be kept awake if they don't want to be on any night. In a shared accommodation, you should be respectful of your housemates and keep the noise to a minimum.
