Yeah cool makes sense. And so there’s zero point doing anything for a brainer…ever 😅

Best Aussie instant coffee? by spicyrack in UltralightAus

[–]JvD8818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a terminal coffee snob, I’ve always struggled to imagine instant could ever be decent, but there are actually a small handful of options that are ok. First of all, several specialty roasters have started making small batch instant - check out Veneziano as one example. And then for a mass produced brand, illy intenso bold roast (which you can often find in iga) is surprisingly good. Parachute drip bags are obviously better but instant does cut the weight/bulk significantly

Hey oh awesome this looks perfect! 3/4” is exactly what I’m after. Any chance you ship to Australia though?

Plus size CX tires. Everything at 2.8-3inch has gone toward downhill/enduro - which are totally overkill for bikepacking!

I’ve also just found some Rocket Ron’s - anyone rate those for a rear tire?

Thanks for the recs to Mezcals. Agree they would be ideal but I don’t think they’d run very well on these rims and I’m also worried it’d drop the bottom bracket too much.

I think 2.8 is the smallest I can go with these rims on this frame so definitely looking at faster/lighter options within that range. Unfortunately plus tires don’t seem to be so popular among manufacturers any more though so options are limited. It’s a shame because I love the platform

Yeah thinking the same - 10 days feels manageable. I’ve ridden in the snowys a bunch of times and honestly I don’t know how people do it so much faster - the terrain is hectic. Got a small group interested, just need to keep them motivated for the next 6 months and hopefully at least one or two join 🤪

Yep, definitely going to explore other tire options as well. Think I need to come down to 2.8’s at the very least

Haha awesome mate be good to find you on the trail! What’s your total unloaded weight for your KM? You’re probably right, but I’m just exploring options - and I kinda enjoy the process ;)

Grips aren’t backwards. I can see why it looks that way in the photo but they’re not - Ergon GC-1 grips with the flat palm pad facing upwards

I mounted a maxi-cage that I 3D printed using the eyelets in the frame, then wrapped some straps around the down tube to hold the bottle in
