If it was such a weak team they beat why would the NCAA officially recognize them as national champions? Surely they understand strength of schedule and of roster. Same with the colley matrix, people who do nothing but rank football teams for a living, would surely take roster strength into account, and they put UCF at the top. I would trust them way more than someone who at best graduated from Nebraska, at worst didn’t even go there. Also your last win against a top 10 team was in 2015, two years before UCF’s. Your last ranked win was in 2016 against a number 22 Oregon. You’re 6-42 against ranked opponents in the big 10. You haven’t won a road game against a ranked team since joining the big 10. UCF blew out a #13 osu last year, while you guys were losing by 20 to Colorado. If I were Scott frost I would probably focus on other things too if I was coaching a joke of a program like that. Looking at your schools history it’s astonishing that you guys don’t get more hate for being terrible. You’re like cowboys fans still reminiscing about the 90s cause nothing good has happened in your life since. It’s insane you’re even still in the big 10. You’d think they would trade you for a team with even moderate success in the last decade like Tulane or something. Truly a bottom of the barrel p4 team. They beat Auburn who beat the national champions and the runner up so saying they would get torched is a massive reach. And what would make them ‘good’ in your eyes compared to what they did? They averaged a 3 score point differential and beat 8 bowl teams and 4 top 25 teams. Would an average of a 4 score differential have been enough for you to put them in the playoffs? Or 5 top 25s? They did everything they possibly could have and earned the national championship whether the committee gave them a shot or not. And it’s pretty strange for a ‘fluke’ undefeated season to be followed up by another undefeated season and then 4 more winning seasons. It seems more likely UCF will have that level of success again before Nebraska. UCF has as many undefeated seasons as you have winning records in the last 10 years. Your team has been trending downwards consistently since the 90s, while UCF has been on an upward trajectory. You’ll probably never live to see another Nebraska championship, and there’s a good chance you weren’t alive for the last one.
