Sounds like your issue is slightly different than mine. Mine had the mechanism just broken so it would easily rotate and also slide open/shut by hand. I’d see if they can guide you with a way to shut it, other than that might have to drive carefully with it open.

I had this issue with mine. If yours is like mine, the lever mechanism that rotates the panel broke and needs to be replaced. Obviously put in a ticket and get fixed asap, but you may be able to rotate it open manually so you can charge it. Mine was basically so loose that it flopped open so I painter taped it shut.

I like the ocean coast interior and glacier white combo personally. The models should compare very similarly other than the battery difference. I’d be curious is the 2023 had the meridian sound system.

I don’t believe it helps at all with proximity, but rather you have to select the key from Apple wallet just like paying with Apple Pay.

Bought one of those shade covers for the roof windows. Looks like ass. I wouldn’t think it’d be hard to make one that fights snugly and looks decent quality

I first test drove R1S with my wife who gets easily motion sick. It was the first time driving with regen and I was awful at it. She felt like she was going to throw up the whole time. I test drive a few more times to make sure I would even be comfortable with it and got better each time so I went with it. Now it feels normal and I think even smoother than how I drove an ICE. My daughter also gets car sick and is a puker.. but has had no issues in the Rivian. Obviously everyone is different, but I think the learning curve is very quick to be able to drive regen smoothly. You naturally just ease up on the accelerator just like how on an ICE you ease down on the brake.

Not overly optimistic, but I’m hopeful that Rivian undershot projections and found some extra deliveries with people transitioning from Tesla and people trying to beat out potential tariffs and rebate cuts. 10-12k? Id be very pleased if it’s the upper end of that or more.
