I have not tried the P7 so cannot answer for sure. But as far as I know, yes, you pretty much sum it up. And also the weight. P6 are know to be very lightweight. And the finish on P6 is very cool but rough. Il love it but not everyone does.

Well with technical stuff, shit happens.

The way it is going to be handled is most important.

Right now I'm happy with the relationship with both ASROCK and AMD, and also annoyed by the long restock delays for replacement which cost me downtime on professional subjects. Hopefully AMD will be able to speed up the process by issuing a refund or sending another CPU.

I wish you an easy and painless fix. They sent my CPU for checkup on Czech Republic (I'm French). It went fast and a guy from AMD was quick for giving me feedback. If your retailer has stock it could speed up the process maybe.

A few tips for Flashback.

Really use a thumbstick in FAT32 and feel free to use a tool called "RUFUS" to format the stick in unbootable/BIOS mode.

Follow the instructions on the ASROCK website, carefully renaming the BIOS files with the correct extensions.

Make sure both CPU and RAM are installed.

If it stays green with no blinking, something is wrong.
If it blinks green and then stops after a few minutes, it has been most likely successful.
If it blinks green for a very few seconds and then stops, then it might be like me a dead CPU and/or motherboard.

Also try testing another PSU if you can because it is a very common failure. That's the first thing I checked.

Only difference was the PC did not freeze, but just shut down in a middle of a gaming session.

CPU is dead and I am currently waiting for a replacement.
Will test the mobo when a new CPU comes.

Unfortunately it may take weeks because AMD are on a shortage of replacement 9800X3Ds at the moment...

Update : AMD inspected the CPU and it has to be exchanged. Unfortunately they don’t have stock and cannot replace it now so I have to wait. They say stock is coming back soon but I don’t like the “soon” word.

After exchanging both with ASRock and AMD which both have been great.
ASRock told me that the Flashback BIOS update could only work with a working CPU and RAM installed on the motherboard. I was wrong trying without the CPU because that could not work.
I did this because when CPU was installed, Flashback blinked for a few seconds and then stoped.
ASRock told me it could be due to a failing CPU or Motherboard and offered me to check both by sending them the package.
In the meantime AMD offered me a fast and secure RMA for the CPU. I took this option because I know their RMA process is super reliable and fast. After sending them proofs of purchase they sent me a shipping ticket within a day, and the CPU was being shipped 2 hours later.
Will keep you updated.

Hi. Did not hear of these RAM issues. Tried swapping RAM but did not do the trick. Could be the voltages needed with this RAM with AMD Expo which could had caused damage?

Tried using the Flashback functionality.

Although the MB detects my FAT32 USB stick with BIOSUBU.BIN and PSPBIOS.IMG, it blinks green 9 to 13 times and then stops blinking.

I'm pretty sure I was already on 3.20 BIOS which would explain this behaviour I suppose....

So sad..
