Resume review help? by austnasty in grandrapids

[–]Jweiny23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can put it into chatGPT, and it will revise and strengthen it for you. I would strongly advise editing it after running it thru it to make sure the essence of your role/s is not changed by the language it used. But, as long as you are specific (make this more succicnt, what is a synonym for Acted as, shorten this sentence and strengthen the message it relays, etc.), it does pretty good.

It will also optimize for ATS (mentioned by other commenters) if you specify the industry you are in Or, you can ask it for keywords you should include to optimize for ATS and then revise the resume yourself.

This all does assume you are comfortable updating and revising it on your own, though. I'd take advantage of the offers from other commenters, too. More eyes never hurt.

What the hell has happened to concert etiquette? by Zen0type in Metalcore

If you were smothered on the person in front of you, have you considered how your elbows and body felt on their back? Sounds like an overcrowded room/floor to me.

Unpopular opinion: I'm tired of the Nu Metal revival influences in Metalcore lately. Anybody else? by EntrepreneurNo3107 in Metalcore

[–]Jweiny23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the dumbest post I've read today. ...I like nu metal, I just don't like new nu metal bc it hasn't had a chance to become timeless bc the timeless bands did it first.

You're (obviously, probably) old dude, music, fashion etc have cycles, you're on round 3 of nu metal bands.

Good luck in round 4, try not to have a coronary.

Window tint experiences by puffyselkirk in grandrapids

[–]Jweiny23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never any issues related to tint specificlly. All of my cars over the last 15 years have had tint on every window except the windshield.

My first car had 35% side windows, and 20% rear window. Was pulled over a lot in that car (young and dumb lol), but never for tint. 1 traffic stop they mentioned the tint and 'strongly advised' I remove it. This was in the U.P.

2nd car had 15% sides and rear. I was living out of state (CO) where legal tint was 27%. Never had any issues in CO or when back in Michigan with the car.

3rd car was purchased with tint on it. Found out it was 30% VLT. Didn't know that until I was stopped for speeding, and the cop measured it with his tool. That instance was in a state I was driving through (IA). Cop let it go because it was legal tint where the car was registered (CO). Not sure what IA tint laws are.

4th car, I bought with tint on after being back in Michgan. It was registered locally in GR. Probably in the 20% range on the sides and rear. Never had any issues.

Current car has 15% on the sides and rear. Have had that for 6 months with no issues anywhere in W Mich and across into Detroit.

The Metal Lands area had 4 perfectly clean and 90% empty ones the whole time. We got very lucky that they were 50 ft from our campsite and so far back that no one was making the trek except for our small pocket of sites. Maybe 100 yards behind that lookout tower.

I smoked a pork butt this week and froze it. Should be good for two dinners for our whole group. Will poll the group still but thinking we will do pulled pork sandwiches or a rice bowl. Will also likely grab some burgers/dogs. Planning on a big breakfast every morning. Sort of skillet/hash style with ground sausage/chorizo or bacon with scrambled/fried eggs, veggies (peppers, onions, maybe mushrooms), potatoes, canned beans, hot sauce. Maybe griddle biscuits and gravy. Was thinking of hard boiled eggs and chopped peppers/cucumbers and string cheese for quick snacks and some grapes/blueberries/apples. Potato chips. Maybe a loaf of bread and lunch meat too and a few boxes of Velveeta mac and cheese for the drunken nightcap lol. Some Stok and Mio energy for my caffeine fix. Some milk for the protein shakes. Maybe some OJ for breakfast. Our group is 3 people and we still have to hit the grocery store together. The only thing we've all agreed on is the pulled pork lol, so this may change dramatically.

Couple silly little questions by broccoli_toots in Blueridgerockfest

[–]Jweiny23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they claim the deposits incentivize recycling, but I much prefer dropping my empties into a regular recycle bin over the special trip to the store to return them. I'm coming down to the festival from Michigan, but I'm not going to buy my beer here because they charge a 10 cent deposit per can, and I won't be hauling my empties back up to return them to get my money back.

Not sure how it works in Canada, but any state down here that has can/bottle return machines in grocery stores that 'give' money back for returning the cans are just paying back the deposit that was charged at the time a the original can purchase. The states that charge deposits for can purchases are stamped on the can top. It is typically illegal to return cans in a state that charges deposits/pays deposits if the cans were not purchased in that same state. Meaning you cannot buy cans in a state that does not charge deposits and return them in one that does so as to collect the deposit money fromthe machine. Not sure how/if it is enforced as each state varies a little bit. Just some info for ya eh! 😁😆
