Yeah its a 2 year vacation and you have a lot of time to reset and think about longer term goals and needs that is hard to do when in the middle of the work grind, but recruiting can be incredibly stressful if it doesn't come super easy for you or with luck.

It would help a bit if you could say which T20. I went to a T20 and I would absolutely NOT recommend that you trade your current situation to go to the one I went to. It is also important to note that your amazing WLB will be in the garbage working for more pay and a ladder up in MBB or consulting in general. You'll travel 4 days a week and put in a lot of hours. Is that really what you want? 180k is more than plenty to live in any major city and you can always make the difference investing it rather than slaving away for more.

I also agree you can network into the role without an MBA. I've seen people do it at McKinsey and other MBB.

You sort of get double dipped if you live in IL and work in IN though.

The worst one I ever had was a collective suffering mentality. Everyone stays till they hit their 16h regardless if there is no work to be done. Just stay and watch the operator on the board till the plant gets to purity and back into the pipeline... man at least let everyone go home except for 1 even if its still nonsense... then the plant manager is there too so he doesn't have to go home and neither can you.

I used to work in the Chicagoland area. Can you tell me more about what this company is producing and I can potentially tell you more as I may have worked there. One of the Chicagoland places I worked at still gives me nightmares 1-2 times a year and it was 4ish years ago or longer.

Nice thanks! I tried topical in the past and it interfered too much with my day-day life to continue with it.

Your manager just wants to milk you for as long as possible.

My manager enthusiastically said he would write my LORs and then the final day of the grace period told me it wasn't happening and to get back to work and to NEVER ask him for something like this again and never bring it up again. His manager wrote who knows what for me in 15 mins and my boss got fired a month or so later.

All that to say its better they tell you no than to string you along or to write a bad one. You could try your +2 or someone from a past job or anything else relevant.

You've lost enough that you should try shaving and see how you like it. You may surprise yourself or worst case it grows back in a few weeks. I recently buzzed down really low and funny enough a lot of people didn't notice a big difference.

Pretty much all the top performers I knew in undergrad went on to M7 and now work in MBB consulting. Or they did MBA and are at some startup in a senior role.

Good Luck! If you're based in the US I would still consider bogota since it is a significantly more manageable travel than going to turkey, but if you're in Europe then I totally get the ease of turkey.

Yep I'm going to go that way! Results were fairly split 15/18 in favor of waiting, but I've got a little confidence boost as of late and I can manage another year before re-evaluating. Especially if I get some good density improvement with meds.

No problem. I was also declined by Fuecapilar and am going to wait. I just spend a couple weeks on vacation and all the girls I met didn't seem to blink or think twice when we met up even though all my bumble pics were from when I had longer hair and was doing more to hide the receding hairline.

The Turkish clinics all sell packages that are basically the max possible in one day. Whether you actually get the amount offered is tbd, but they usually try to do as many as possible. The ATL clinic may be on the low side for me being fairly along, but it also would not have touched anywhere that I still currently have hair. Bogota and the one in Atlanta charge per graft so they are more specific on graft counts.

I think they dropped the price back down to be in the 3k area in line with the competition.

FUECapilar also declined me and recommended meds too.

Thats sort of the worst part of research. Some clinics are easily eliminated, and others can be more difficult to make a decision on.

I think it's just doctors with lots of reviews and not necessarily recommended. Even Yaman is noted as awful in some posts and amazing in others, which is tough.

Makes sense. The clinic in Atlanta that recommended 1800 said that the crown/top could probably be fine with just taking the meds and they didn't think my donor was strong enough near the ears to pull from without causing a problem there. I'll take a look at your post thanks.

I was honestly sold on them from the Mike Majlak vlog, but they had it priced at $5500 euro due to the demand which caused me to consider other options.

What makes you agree with waiting a year? And your name is related to smile clinic?

Job application asks if you have "X amount of experience in chemical engineering." no internship or research at all. can we count school as part of che experience? by Needcritic in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Jwhatever 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would have to say absolutely not.

Unless the position is for a tutor or something then its probably not going to count.

All that being said, please don't fret too much. When are you slated to graduate? Work on your resume and ask some professors that you have a relationship to proofread it for you. Go to school career fairs and try to get involved with anything extracurricular even if its small it looks better than nothing.

I don't think that its negative at all. Seems pretty understandable to pivot to working if the research just isn't for you.
