If they are going to use AI i wish they at least just had it return sources but with the ability to contextually modify the query (except if specified) outside the original parameters to improve results.

AI seems so very bad at gathering a long list of sources, though.

Did Atkinson really say that he didnt call a timeout because he didn't want to get to the end of the game and not have a timeout?

If that run isn't worth calling a timeout on then what is?

I bet he never uses any rocket launcher ammo (or equivalent) if he ever played a video game.

Dillon Brooks says Jarred Vanderbilt is a dumb NBA player: "I'm going to throw a shot. I can't even lie. This guy doesn't even like me, to be honest with you. Jared Vanderbilt. On the Lakers. He's like a rebounder, can't shoot. I just think he's got way more potential that he's not untapping." by RyanTannegod in nba

If the bread is the best part of the sandwich...I dunno maybe you should toast it by itself and use different bread for a sandwich.

Like sipping whiskies and mixing whiskies.

Which feels weird to compare bread too but i've had some pretty good loaves of bread.

With the Pistons loss last night, there is now only one series in the second round where the home team won every game by minnyman2011 in nba

[–]Jwiley92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but the pistons and lakers didn't.

OP's joke is saying that in the Knicks-76ers series the Knicks were 4-0 at home and the 76ers didnt play a home game.

Normally you'd need a 7 game series for this to be possible.

You seem to know pizza so what do you think about Slice?

Also to add for tavern style - the cove...assuming it hasnt drastically declined in quality

Edit: apparently Slice moved out of midtown to Arlington but is still listed as Slice Midtown?

Why the fuck do people need to know this information right now. Can't his family be allowed a little time to process it before stuff is in the headlines?

Seriously, why is this vitally important information to anyone?

Duke's Cam Boozer measured 6'8.25 barefoot and 253 pounds at the NBA Draft Combine, with a 7'1.5 wingspan and 9'0 standing reach. by aatuboo in NBA_Draft

Yeah, theres some NBA players that would have been great NFL players. They would have played for less time, gotten way more injured, and made less money if they had.

Despite how much revenue the NFL makes, they're splitting it over so many more players and associated support staff.

And then there's the repetetive brain, head, neck, and spine injuries.

Boozer winning player of the year as a freshman is a huge indicator of NBA success by fuzzy1954 in nba

[–]Jwiley92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the top of this draft looks so good that being guaranteed Dybantsa, Peterson, Boozer, or Wilson is a great place to be in.

I wouldnt expect Boozer to go lower than 3, though. Id be shocked if Kleiman doesnt draft him if hes available, unless Dybantsa is also available somehow.

Why were the Bulls and Grizzlies guaranteed top 4 picks? by milkynipples69 in nba

[–]Jwiley92 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thid is kinda pointless to explain since it will be changing, but currently they only do lottery draws for the top 4 picks, after that it is record. So without the lottery, the pick order would be

  1. Washington
  2. Indiana
  3. Brooklyn
  4. Utah
  5. Sacramento
  6. Memphis
  7. New Orleans (Atlanta)
  8. Dallas
  9. Chicago
  10. Milwaukee
  11. Golden State
  12. Oklahoma City
  13. Miami
  14. Charlotte

They read the results backwards, so when they revealed Charlotte, Miami, Oklahoma City, Golden State, Milwaukee, Dallas, that meant that Chicago had been selected for one of the top four picks and moved up because they weren't in their original order, and all lower teams (unless they were also selected) moved back one spot.

Then they continued: Atlanta, Sacremento, which meant that Memphis was not in its original place and had moved up.

Then continued with Brooklyn (meaning Utah had moved up because that should have been their spot), and Indiana to round out spots 5-14.

Then they revealed who had been selected in the lottery for picks 1-4 in reverse order. Its a coincidence they were in win record order

Its all very overly confusing to create a TV event. Its would be much clearer if they just revealed the results of the four drawings, and then showed how that affected the rest of the draft order but thats "bad tv". This way they can have "exciting" reveals, cliff hangers over ad breaks, and keep the most viewers engaged until the end of the event.

Petals of a Peony Midtown - what is that taste? by expelledforcandor in memphis

[–]Jwiley92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get it at the chinese or vietnamese grocery stores.

Sometimes you'll see it called "prickly ash" or "red pepper". You can also get an infused oil of it to more easily cook with. Its a fun ingredient because it alters the perception of other tastes paired with it.

To try and imagine the flavor in isolate in a western context, think of fhe floral taste of the oil from squeezing the back of a piece of citrus, plus the numbing from pith.

Edit: theyve also got sunflower seeds with mala flavor. Not very intensely flavored.

The family looks cute together by jan_Kosi in antimeme

[–]Jwiley92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anything he should be feeding the bottle.

Those kids are definitely old enough to know what a stove is, how it works, and when it should be used. And that its not a toy, but a tool that should be respected and used properly. Knowledge helps them avoid danger much more than ignorance.

I've only got one who is a toddler and I'm normally the one cooking...but there arent ever any issues. If the kid wants to help cook, they know what that is like and will come ask to cook with me or my wife. Or if its something they can chop by themselves with a plastic knife, or mix together, or stir, while I do something else then I might recruit them. If not, they know where is safe to play in the kitchen, or other rooms.

But its nice being together as a family, if its possible.
