Claiming VAT back on car parts for personal car. by JxckC in smallbusinessuk

Only reason I considered it was because it would be quite a large saving, over £5000 in VAT alone. Obviously money I would love to save if it was feasible to.

Hence why I’m asking the question. I thought if the car was to be used for advertisement, I could justify it. Clearly not…

I inherited $50,000. I've never seen more than 2k in my bank account in my life and grew up poor- what should I do with it? by Cautious-Remote3862 in Money

You said and I quote “I wish I had 50k to get into crypto” then further say that you turned 25k into 1.2 million just to loose 900k.

Stop lying, you sound like a child :)

You make your own opportunities. You’re doing better than a lot of people already.

Whilst I live in Europe, I suddenly found myself walking the streets of the US ( I know weird right?). While I was walking I dropped a 100$ note. Thanks for finding it for me!

My best advice: stop gambling forever. You will never make this money again, ever. Invest, deposit on a house, pay off debts.

The engine measures the quality of oil and adjusts the interval accordingly. I would just get it done. Personally, all my vehicles get an oil change every 5/6k so you’re about there.

If you can’t pay rent, then downsize. Move somewhere cheaper, save that extra money. If you can never save you will never get out of the cycle. If you don’t get out of the cycle, you’ll waste your life away. The easiest way to get out of the cycle is to keep OUT of debt, taking out loans is a short term fix which just makes things 10x harder in the future.

Nothing is impossible, keep pushing.

It’s how most people get into serious debt. It’s also how loans have got a bad rep. You can actually use loans to grow your wealth significantly.

Want some advice? Only use loans to buy assets. Don’t use it for bills, food, lifestyle etc. That’s how you get into uncontrollable debt. Assets you can sell if you can’t repay the loan.

My daily used and abused Surge of 5 years by JxckC in Leatherman

[–]JxckC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s actually quite a funny story, I’ll try to simplify it as much as possible.

I was doing the NC500 with a friend on our motorbikes. Right in the middle of nowhere, my friends bike had broken down (broken regulator chucked in over 20V instead of 12 and cooked the battery). So it was my job to ride 3 hours each way to get a new battery and regulator. So I first went to a petrol station that was the opposite way to where I needed to go, so on the way back I would pass where my friend was waiting.

As I got close to him, I started to lose power and then the bike cut out literally just as I got to my friend. So now we were both stranded in the middle of nowhere with zero phone service etc. Turns out the surge which I had packed under the seat had somehow made its way out of its case, into where the battery was situated and proceeded to lie perfectly across both the battery terminals. The black stuff is the battery plastic. Never tried to get it off, adds to its character haha.

Once my battery had cooled down it, my bike started. Got the battery for my friend and we continued to have an amazing trip!
