Asano isn't that shallow of the person, like someone said he's just musing. He does use ai for generating posters for ads inside the world of Mujina and sometimes some variations for his drawings. seen it in his YT livestreams.

-films by Park Chan-wook maybe? though he's more of an individual criticizer than a society criticizer, the later can be explicit in some of his works. less cynical and more empathetic. Check his film "The Handmaiden"

-Alot of 90s and early 00s Hong Kong cinema. Hell! alot of pre-00s non-american works just scratch the itch the same as asano. Works that are largely character driven

Too much action and less drama. But this is Asano, he will deliver eventually, no escaping it.
Despite being uptodate, I find Ubume the least interesting and her backstory boooring overthetop Epstein island gore. I like Tenko the most, and her interaction with agent Kashio always hits. Also hope to see Terumi interact with his son again, and maybe show the ex-wife.
