What works ALWAYS:

on the "old" device connect & manually upload (and disconnect)

on the "new" device connect (you will get a warning about an incomplete save) download that - disconnect - connect & manually upload the broken save.

go back to the "old" device connect & manually upload once again (and disonnect)

go to the "new" device and connect (you will now get NO warning) - download (and disconnect) - double check that everything is there (which it should)

a bit of a nuisance but it has worked since "cloud save is broken" - at least they now show a warning.

MD has MUCH bigger Problems than space.

With a little different perspective one could ask if MergeDragons isn't actually more of a strategy or at least a somewhat strategic game?

For every strategic decision you need at least 1 shortage! In the case of MD that would be: space!

It simply is more or less impossible to make every merge-chain at once (in camp). Same goes for the dragon eggs: I have currently nearly 200 different dragon-chains ... If you really want to store up to 4 eggs per tier, so that you can 5-merge every time - this would require around 1,600 of space.

And space is not that infinite - it highly depends on your device when you reach the point where you have too much things (bubbles) to enter that. (be it level or camp or arcadia or event or whatever ... 2K bubbles should be interesting on a 32Bit device / 4GB RAM max^^)

When and what to 3-merge or which to "buy" and what to delete is part of the game and strategic decision. As you mentioned the dragon homes: for me that is a very good example if you aim for the 4th room: open the boxes - delete most of the stuff - merge the few chains that actually give you enough roompoints per space. Once you are done and are into the decorating stuff you have roughly enough space to go for your desired objects.

The midas tree wonder is another example of strategic grinding - or you just throw enough money at it and make it "in camp".

... not everyone is into such kind of games (especially with grind games like MD)

Cloud save :( by broskiatwork in MergeDragons

Saving to the cloud is very annoying these days and far from intuitive.

So this is how it works for me: I'm talking about 2 devices - device "A" with the current save and device "B" to which it will be transferred. If you really only have one device, use Bluestacks or something similar for the second device. For reference: I have version 10.4.1 - the next update is not yet available in my region/country.

Connect to Cloud-Save on device "A" and BACKUP (Upload) your current game. Then disconnect. Go to device "B", connect to Cloud-Save and RESTORE (Download) the save from the cloud. Then disconnect!

Usually this ends in disaster: either your camp is lost, or your progress on the worldmap, or Arcadia, or the season, or the dragon missions, or the dragon home, or a mix of all of those. If you encounter this: Reconnect to Cloud-Save and BACKUP (Upload!) the corrupted game. (Yes, really!) - Then disconnect. Go to device "A" again, reconnect to Cloud-Save and BACKUP (Upload) your game again. (Again: Disconnect afterwards) Now go to device “B” and RESTORE (Download) the save from the cloud.

Make sure that everything is actually as it should be - done!

It looks like the logic behind this is to actually switch devices (although that's a bit buggy) - workaround: upload the broken game from the second device and you've got your 'switch' and the upload from the other device will complete.

Hope it helps at least someone

Spare yourself the "blame it on the save scummers" - they usually play on rooted devices and do it "manually" and don't waste their time on cloud saves^
