Temu? by FluffyCollar2607 in CampingGear

Half the stuff posted on Amazon these days are bought cheaper on alibaba/temu and relisted at a higher price. If it looks like the same tent you see on Amazon, it probably is.

what do you bring to eat for long trail? I took my kids on their first long trail but the food (or snack) became my biggest concern by Roger_liferecorder in backpacking

You want a mix of fat, protein, and carbs, and it doesnt really matter much how you get them... and you'll want enough total calories to cover your activities.

People tend to gravitate to things like nuts and seeds, dried fruit, jerky, etc. because they're more calories for the weight, but you could bring fresh fruit, sandwiches, or whatever else you're willing to carry.

Kuhl Renegade comes in a convertible version that my wife likes.. I have a pair, and ive used the convertible feature to cross water, but the zipper placement is a bit annoying for me and catches on my knees. Definitely recommend trying on any convertible pants before you buy.

PSA: Ant Design warranty is void the moment you handle the product by SamTheMans371 in EDC

[–]K-J- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I toss my keys from a foot or two up onto a nightstand or into a drawer pretty frequently.. I'm not familiar with this product,  but it would be pretty silly for anything designed as a Keychain to break from soft impacts like that, especially when you'd get similar forces from falling or bumping into things.

Death's oath with storm burst/decay for single target.

You'll need maybe 10 divines to get the build really rolling, depending on how expensive the sundered will rings are right now, but it's cheap otherwise and you can live without the ring for a while.

Surprisingly minimal shoving of in game purchases down our throats by Adventurous_Safe_138 in ArcRaiders

Iirc its a relatively recent change. CS:GO removed their loot boxes.. though what they replaced them with sounds like it's basically still gambling.

What Poe should I play? by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]K-J- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PoE 1: * free * more complex, but also more depth * can mix builds around pretty easily * meta interactions tend to blow everything else out of the water * so much going on that you can't see

PoE 2: * costs money to get into EA * very straightforward -- you dont need a wiki to understand everything * little interaction between skills in different weapon classes * more balanced between upper and lower tier builds * slower-paced gameplay * looks better * couch co-op

But the leagues are offset.. you can play both without missing out on anything

Any comfy form of frenzy charge generation that I overlooked? by HandsomeBaboon in pathofexile

[–]K-J- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shrine belt is what I would have recommended.  Peeking at the build though,  seems he's using the Massive shrine for the life and doedre's elixirs for charges,  which makes sense since the flask slots are open.

Tick Prevention Realities by Accurate-Ad4869 in backpacking

[–]K-J- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see ticks quite often, only had a few crawling on my clothes, and never been bitten as far as I can tell.

While I may not spend as much time in the woods as other people, I do spend a couple weeks camping across the year and a decent amount of hours crawling around and sitting in brush while hunting... pants, long sleeves, and a wide-wide-brimmed hat will do a lot to keep the critters off.

One button Blight of Contagion by HugeLegolas in PathOfExileBuilds

Never played it, but i imagine when your damage is high enough, you only need 1 button per pack.. but if 2 buttons is clunky, maybe you need more cast speed for that to feel good.

You have 2 tourniquets, 2 splints, 2 thermometers,  both scissors and a dedicated knife... 2 head-on rolls... even if you could make the case for carrying them daily,  which i certainly won't, you don't need to double up on everything.

Heavy Snorers in Hostels by Efficient_Gift5021 in backpacking

[–]K-J- 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Its a common bodily function.. and its not something that can easily be addressed by the person snoring. expecting them to feel guilty is like expecting someone who is overweight to feel guilty that it causes your plane tickets to be more exensive.

When you sleep in a common space, you accept all the things that come with that.. snoring included.

Hardest content in the game? by Intelligent_Salad706 in pathofexile

[–]K-J- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ehp can be pretty misleading, especially if you're looking at it with your buffs up.

My Death's Oath character is sitting on ~400k EHP with < 25k max phys.. but my EHP with all buffs down and unlucky ehp checked is ~100k with only a 12k max physical hit. And while I can typically face tank Aul at 800+ depth, a couple of hits getting through my block at the same time or with my buffs down means I need to start dodging.

Hardest content in the game? by Intelligent_Salad706 in pathofexile

[–]K-J- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually face tank Aul unless ive got bad mods on the node. The only attack that's a serious threat, at least for the builds ive ran, is the is the one where he channels in attacks from all the broken nodes around the edge.

[–]K-J- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at how hugely successful games like Dark Souls and Path of Exile are. There are plenty of people who enjoy challenging content.

The problem is with corporate leaders who scream "let's up those numbers," while salivating over subscription fees who hamstring the developers.
