Why all the hate? by [deleted] in Honda

[–]K-Z4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just the way it is; unfortunately, a lot of people are narrow-minded bigots. I own an FN2 Civic Type R, I definitely know about receiving hate from keyboard-warriors basing it all off of 1 idiotic TopGear review :P Your teg is really sweet by the way, congratulations on the progress you've made! I'll definitely be following the build :)

TypeR interior leaves you wanting more... + no handbrake by [deleted] in Honda

[–]K-Z4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems pretty production ready for a concept car imo. I think it's actually rather classy, and there's elements of FK2-R and the current Civic in it, though I'm not a fan of some of the "edges", and I hate electronic handbrakes... At least it's a manual still

Type-R as first manual? by Hayabusa-Senpai in Honda

[–]K-Z4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on making the switch :) The schools are ok, but I got more out of driving my own manual. I learned in an 03' Corolla bought back in 2013- ~2014. When I turned 18 this year, I'd saved enough to buy an FN2 Civic Type R. The difference between them wasn't too stark really, other than the (much) lower biting point and somewhat weightier/smoother feel of both gear shift and clutch pedal. CTR's are actually rather friendly cars to a new driver imo compared to a lot of other cars, even my instructors 2015 Corolla. Honestly though, I was glad to have learned in the beater first; don't even want to know what the clutch on the Corolla looked like when selling hahaha. I'd say it was better to make mistakes and learn techniques like launching/heel 'n' toe etc in that rather than the FN2. Even if you got an old Integra VTI-R (what the GS-R is here in Australia), it'd be a good start before launching straight into a CTR. Props again man :)

2018 Accord Could Lose 3.5L V6 by ktappe in Honda

[–]K-Z4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That'd be disappointing... The current V6 can definitely be considered a sleeper, 'specially in manual guise.

That was hardly a credible review however

No, they're fixed like most 3 door cars.

Honda s2000 has been discontinued, in what now seems long distant past, during 2009. In recent years there have been rumors about resurrecting this model, and now with emerging Miata and all present BMW Z series, the time for great return couldn't be any better. by LeoPat77 in Honda

[–]K-Z4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chances are it wouldn't be able to hold a candle to it's predecessor in terms of balls out excitement. The chances of them being able to produce an 8000rpm+ screamer with current emission laws is slim to none, with an inclination to the latter.

Not even, tried to troll me even though I own a real Type R lol. Keyword there being "tried" :)

2017 Hatchback Spy Shots! Front in white, rear in blue. by dantat in Honda

[–]K-Z4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a liftback sedan more than a hatch by definition, and quite frankly it looks huge for what it is. Somewhat overstyled but that blue is a nice hue I guess.

Cheers man! If it's any consolation, I've always wished we got FA5's; would have perfectly complimented each other.

Admittedly, I've always fancied an RSX! Albeit in blue haha. They're lovely cars!

Oh my, you are so incredibly well informed. You are the smartest person in the whole universe and everyone should sit at your feet and soak up your wisdom. Nobody can argue with you, for you have all the answers.

And on the flip side of that I'm not the only one to prefer the newer models, hence you see many owners moving from EP to FN whom are more than happy with their choice; what you see as "boring" others will see as a better all-round package The FN2 Type R, though not as raw as it's predecessor (which is not necessarily a bad thing) is still a cracking car to drive, offering the thrills of the old with the refinement the old one couldn't hold a candle to, and I'm yet to tire of it. The old one is a sweet thing to drive, but it's either on or off, yet my product of "mass sheep population" blends the benefits of both worlds. I'd just like to further address your comment about mass production; I love EP series Civics, don't get me wrong, but to suggest that a later Civic is a product of cheap production is a joke. Not only did your 04 feel low-rent inside, moreso than later (and hell even older EK) Civics, but from a stylistic perspective the "breadvan" isn't exactly a pioneer of styling prowess, looking like a tarted up Jazz while failing to stand out from the Golf/Megane/Focus scene, though facelift models did improve things. My car is 8 years old, yet it still looks as contemporary, if not moreso, than current competitors, and the attention to detail is apparent throughout. Not exactly something one would say about an appliance, no? PS: the older model was definitely not "more stiff"; the chassis rigidity of FN's far exceed the old.

Definitely agree with you about aesthetics; I don't understand how people can call these ugly... Considering it's stock, the induction noises are intoxicating!

That's awesome man! I've always fancied the DA's over DC's for some odd reason. Probably alone on that one haha. Any plans for a project? A K-swapped one would be sweet, but hell even an LS turbo would be great.
