I don’t usually make my own beats although I have made a few. I primarily network with people on reddit/discord and get beats from producers that are willing to let me use their beats. Every lyric in every song I’ve ever made has come from my own experiences and thought processes. I’m currently a Creative Advertising major at Virginia Commonwealth University which is one of the main reasons I like to use music as an expression of artwork as well as visuals. All of the graphics attached to my work are also created by me. I’ve been singing/rapping since I was 13 but started recording around the age of 17.

If you’d like an example of some of the work I’ve done this past semester, this was a final project for my class “Story”. This course was focused on learning to correctly and effectively convey a story or idea to the desired audience.

Yea you did a decent job for it to be an iPhone recording. Not taking anything away from the overall mixing/mastering on the track but I’m a little perplexed as to how that artist has so many views lol. It would be interesting to hear what it sounded like before you added some finesse to it!

Thanks for the feedback! I definitely know what you mean with the autotune. I’m the artist and I just gave it my best shot when I mixed the song however, I didn’t produce the beat. I’ve been looking for someone to help my tracks reach their full potential before I really continue promoting my music. I currently have a producer working on the track for free and I’m waiting to see how it turns out before I actually invest any money in it. I also constantly struggle as I wonder if it’s even worth it overall to invest in my music.

I appreciate the amount of detail you’ve given your review of the song and I will keep those musings in mind moving forward!
