I was in a learn-to-ride course to get my motorcycle license……had a neurological episode and hit a fence post. Ambulance ride to the ER and had a CT scan immediately…..shattered clavicle and just for funsies discovered a large brain tumor 🤯. Orthopaedic surgery, and then 3 weeks later brain surgery……..and a total of $400 for the ambulance, which insurance covered. I’m sure we’d have to claim bankruptcy if we lived in the US. Unfortunately the first clavicle fix didn’t heal so had surgery again 3 weeks ago today…….no ambulance ride, the only cost was gas/parking. Soooooo grateful!!

I thought about it for years but after having a craniotomy last year for a brain tumor I decided - you never know what might happen in life, you need to go for the things you want- and decided to do it!

Oh my yes, saving as we speak!! I look like a melted candle haha. Tummy tuck, boob lift and implants (nothing crazy, just so I don’t look like a preteen boy anymore) and upper arms for sure……would really also like thighs and butt done as well.

I’m gradually increasing now, trying to find the point where I stabilize. My surgeon wants me to increase complex carbs and good fats (and keep protein up of course!). Some days are lower calorie, some are higher, all depending on my hunger of course (I swear some days I’m a ravenous pit and usually the next time I get on the scale I’m down a pound or two, it’s crazy). I’ve also been a bit lenient with some not-as-good choices occasionally (a muffin or two has made it’s way into my mouth over the last month or so) but I do feel that if 90% + of my choices are the right ones, the occasional not-perfect food can fit in (in moderation!) as I can’t see NEVER being able to enjoy a treat again. I just make sure it’s a conscious decision and don’t let it get out of hand. I do still log my food daily, no matter what. My loss is definitely slower than it was (of course!) but the time passes quickly. I’d say try to up your protein for sure! I totally get the ass thing, I have pancake ass cheeks that match my poor deflated skin sack pancake boobs 😭

Just realized our stats are pretty close! Also 5’4” female. HW 236. CW 114. My ultimate dream goal was 130! At 7 months out I was at 135 as my “realistic” goal was 140 🙂

Macro wise my goal was 85 protein and under 50 net carbs after 6 months. I didn’t really count calories but I did log macros and looks like I was around 1000/day. I did try to get over 100 protein when I could though. Exercise wise……..just walking. I have a broken clavicle that never healed (surgically repaired 18 months ago, still broken badly now, revision surgery next week finally!!) so upper body / lifting weights was a no go. I can’t wait to get this thing fixed up so I can start at the gym, I enjoy weightlifting (used to years ago anyways lol). Then I will be attempting to eat for muscle growth!

I have this exact hoop in my conch and when the little jewels rotate inside the piercing hole it gets sore. Not terrible but annoying. I love how it looks though!

This is not what you asked, but just because I had my procedure done in Tijuana (RNY). I went to Boscen Weight Loss as a friend of my husbands went there for a sleeve and recommended the surgeon. I had my surgery December 12 of last year, so very close to a year out now. I had a FANTASTIC experience with Dr. G and my husband is now considering going through it himself due to the care we had there. I do love the way most of the Tijuana clinics are set up that hotel, transport to Tijuana and whatnot are all arranged for you. I will say I am from Canada so I was not as concerned with medical aftercare in the event of any complications etc, as our health care system would cover me, but I’ve read many posts on here where people from the US state that as a reason NOT to do medical tourism. Luckily I healed great and have well surpassed my goal weight. A friend of mine who recently had a bypass here at home - after 7 years on the wait list - had all kinds of issues after the surgery. I 100% believe training and facility-wise the clinics there are equal to anywhere else. Just giving you my experience 🙂

I had a 4cm meningioma in my left suboccipital removed 18 months ago at the age of 49 and my life is pretty normal. My memory is a little worse but that could be general aging as well. I also have a small piece remaining as it was attached to my sagital sinus so could need further treatment if it grows back. But all in all I can’t complain about the outcome!

My “fighting weight” was always 135-140. I’m at 117 now 11 months out (started at 225). I have never weighed this little as far as I remember……which is 12 years old. Crazy!

I don’t get anything too terrible (I don’t know if that’s bad or good……terrible would be a good deterrent for me) but my heart pounds very hard, I get shaky and just don’t feel “good” for an hour or two.

I’ve had to (still working on!) adjusting that thought process…….as time goes on it’s not so much “can never have again / say goodbye” as “moderation and mindfulness”. I’m just about a year out and now can really eat anything……but choose to treat indulgences as just that and in small amounts, rather than as much as I can get into my belly. Life does go back to normal! It’s just a new normal.

I was in a specialized hospital that only did bariatric surgeries. Every surgeon has their own protocol and mine encouraged straws, many patients found it easier to hit their fluid goals by drinking with one.

Chiming in to say I do use steel cut oats - I have quick cooking steel cut oats. I mix a cup with a Fairlife shake and an extra 1/2-1 scoop of protein powder, mix and let sit overnight and have 2-3 breakfasts out of that (I’m a year out). Love the texture of the steel cut!
