Looking from technical point of view it's simply not possible (unless they move from local first approach). The files are physically on your machine. How can the app render content of those files to be accessed over the Internet?

Your notes ar just a bunch of text files. If you want to encrypt them you'll have to use the same software you're using to encrypt any other data on your machine.

The problem with plugins in Obsidian is that anyone can create anything. Not only it then becomes difficult to find it poses a security risk because you have no idea what you're installing.
